  • Great job!

    "Superb"
Neil Diamond, this should be interesting.

Jason Castro "Forever In Blue Jeans" Jason Castro was back in his groove. I thought it was a good performance. 8.9/10

David Cook "I'm Alive" Good performance. Not his best. Just good. Hoping he does better next song. 9.2/10

Brooke White "I'm A Beliver" I was suprised by the song choice. It wasn't a nightmare. It was still good though. 8.6/10

David Archuleta "Sweet Caroline" I did not like it. It wasn't a good performance and I personally like him slower. 8.4/10

Syesha Mercado "Hello Again" I like her better upbeat. It was still vocally good. Best one out of the first round was Syesha. 9.2/10

Jason Castro "September Morn'" I hated this one. It was horrible. I held my ears. Hope not to see him next week. 7.4/10 All together, 8.2.

David Cook "All I Really Need Is You" I loved this one. It was great! My favorite so far today. Great job! 9.8/10. All together, 9.5!

Brooke White "I Am I Said" Wow! That's the Brooke I love. That's gonna bring her to next week. Fantastic!!! Pitch perfect. She made the song her own. 10/10!!!!!!! All together, 9.3.

David Archuleta "America" Good song choice. Apart from that he also performed it well. I enjoyed it. 9.5/10. All together, 9.0/10.

Syesha Mercado "Thank The Lord For The Night Time" That's the Syesha I love. A great performance, up-beat, and she was having fun. 9.7/10. All together, 9.5/10

Bottom 2: Jason Castro and David Archuleta
    Eliminated: Jason Castromoreless
  • Was Paula drunk?

I mean not only did she mess up after when all the contestants came together to see what the judges thought but after Syesha's second performance she called her Brooke! I say don't eliminate one of the contestants tonight, just eliminate Paula! As for the singing I felt nothing was awful but the least memorable performance for me was Jason Castro's second song, September morn. I still feel he should go home tonight with him and Brooke being in the bottom two. I feel like Simon told Syesha she might be in trouble because he knows if he does that people will start to vote for her, because when she sings great she's always in the bottom three. I was so happy David Archuleta finally sang an up tempo song. Two in fact and he did very good. As did David Cook. I think it is time the producers pick a more recent theme because it's all been old themes from 60s, to 70s, to 80s, to Beatles twice, to year you were born which was basically the 80s for most of the contestants, to Dolly Parton, to Andrew Lloyd Webber, and now Neil Diamond? Come on American Idol last year we had cool themes like latin, country, rock, british invasion, and although the talent is better this year the themes were a million times better last year.moreless
  • This is the worst American Idol episode to date.

    "Mediocre"
Oh, my goodness. You can hate me for bringing up a summary like I noted above. I love this show. I always will. My heart is wrenched out and dried out for the many blunders of not only the Idol participants, but one of the judges as well.

Very clearly, Jason Castro no longer has the drive and determination necessary to make the top 4. However, this was NOT the surprise. The surprise was when Paula was critiquing the contestants for both of their songs (when actually, they only sang one at this point). What's worse was when she was looking down at the table like she was given a script. This actually brings validity to the fears of many Idol hopefuls that the show is not being run by America, but by the producers at FOX. How could you really screw up so badly, Paula?

That being said, Syesha and Brooke gave uneven performances, but should last another week in the competition. On a positive note, the Davids performed exceptionally well and are gearing up for a David vs. David (no real Goliath here yet). :)moreless
  • Jason Castro needs to seriously be voted off!! I am tired of him trying to prove or not prove who he is. This was by far the worst 2 performances ever from him!!moreless

First round, no one except Syesha really showed much promise. Some were better than others but still didn't show much soul.
Second round, it was a lot better except for Jason. David Cook showed his soul with his song. Brooke did better on the piano than her first song. Archuelta actually did really well. Syesha showed a lot of personality. I truly hope Simon's comments don't hurt her votes. I'm sick of her being in the bottom 2. She's good people, it's a SINGING not a POPULARITY contest. Or it could be a racist thing too since there have been some awesome people voted off previous idols like Jennifer Hudson, Latoya London, Tamyra Gray, etc.
I'm keeping my fingers cross for Syesha!!moreless
  • If I were dying and about to go any minute now, I would will myself to live long enough to see Jason Castro voted off.

    9.1
    "Superb"
Will they vote him off already? He was by far the worst by a milestone.

The highlights: Brooke White having all smiles as Simon ripped her performance to shreds.

Space Case Paula babbling about the then nonexistent second performance of Jason Castro--and no one stopped her! I mean, they let her go on and on. It was hysterical, the audience was silent, Ryan and the other judges stood by mute, no one said a word as she went further and further into Neverland.

I thought Syesha was by far the best of them all, especially her first song. It would be refreshing if she doesn't get voted off tomorrow. I think when Simon said "I think you're going to be in trouble" and Syesha innocently asked "Why?, that may garner her some sympathy votes because her reaction was very endearing.

I'm surprised no one sang "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show," one of Diamond's biggest hits. I could see David Cook singing that song and bringing the house down.moreless

    • Paula: Oh gosh, we've never had to write these things down fast enough. Jason, the first song, I loved hearing your lower register, which we never really hear. The second song, I felt like your usual charm was missing for me, it kind of left me a little empty. The two songs made me feel like you're not fighting hard enough to get into the top four. Randy: That was just on the first song, though, just on the first one. Paula: Oh my God, I thought you sang twice.
