  • Solid performances from everyone.

First let me say I'm very happy about the results of the show - the four contestants that are still in the game are talented and totally deserve to be there.

Phil - Solid vocals but nothing special about his performance.

LaKisha - Great performance, great vocals. I'm glad the judges gave her good reviews, she didn't deserve some of the negative comments in the past couple of weeks.

Chris - His best performance in the series, his voice wasn't so nasaly and annoying as always.

Melinda - A very very good performance, it's amazing that she can sing anything! Can she rap?

Jordin - Some notes were definitely off, still, I liked her energetic performance and stage presence.

Blake - A very smart decision! After boring performances for several weeks, Blake reminded people why he managed to stay in the competition, even thought he's not an amazing vocalist. I loved the B-boxing and I think this version was better than the original.moreless
  • I thought this episode was exciting. It was the best ever for me. I have been wanting to see Bon Jovi on American Idol for years and I finally got my wish.moreless

I was very excited to finally see Bon Jovi on American Idol. I think it was very beneficial to the Idols to have someone as talented and (HOT) as him to come and mentor them for this weeks episode. I was particularly impressed with Blake and his amazing beat boxing. I wont be surprised if he is to win the competition this year after this weeks performance. I do have to say I was surprised by some of the judges comments on Jordan I thought she did very well with her song choice. I liked her powerful yet timid performance. I think this episode was the best yet. It challenged the Idols to reach deeper within themselves to achieve a new goal on the show. I don't think it's going to be easy to top this episode ever. I do however think it would be beneficial to the Idols on future seasons of American Idol to have mentors such as Aerosmith and Poison who are not only rockers but also have over come hardships and can help them understand the emotional aspect of being a musician.moreless
  • All the performers did Bon Jovi songs, and for once, they all totally rocked, especially Blake!

Bon Jovi is awesome, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy their music, but I was sure reminded in a big way! Every single contestant did a fantastic job this episode! It was so cool to see Melinda rocking, but most of all Blake was amazing! I taped the episode, and had to go back and watch his perfomance again, which absolutely blew the rest away! Phil started out the show awesome as well, and was actually my second favorite of the night. My picks for a long while have been Blake and Melinda for top 2, and it really looks like I may be right! I think we may even get some tickets when they come to Seattle. (which is closest to me)moreless
  • One of the better episodes

Well, I'm not that big of a fan of American Idol, but Blake really shined. Of course, Phil did well with his song, in my opinion, and Lakisha got a kiss from Simon. Jordan just had a hard time and the others, well, I have no clue what they did. Bon Jovi is a great singer and what the contestants tried to do with his songs was, well, interesting. They really arn't at the level he's at. However, Blake was awesome. He just sold me. His beat boxing was amazing and his singing was really good too. He took a huge risk and it paid off. I can't wait to hear him again!moreless
  • Great episode with one of the best performances this season.

Though Phil gets sent packing after this episode, his performance I think was his best so far and next to other contestants performance it wasn't bad. He just did too little too late to stay in the competition. Jordin didn't look too comfortable singing a rock song but kinda became kiss ass after the judges gave her their opinions. Lakisha's performance was outstanding and when Simon kissed Lakisha it was an odd moment. She deserved her kiss though. Blake's performance I think rocked the night. I really like the fact he put some beats showing the talent he hasn't been showing (I don't blame him since it can get old and it's a singing competition). Chris had the bad luck going right after Blake and so his performance didn't shine but instead was crushed by Blake's heat in the crowd. I agreed with Simon in that it wasn't convincing and a bit boring. I am not surprised that he got sent home since his performance next to Blake's was nothing. Melinda seems to be sticking to the Tina Turner voice. She can pull it off but I don't really like it. Simon likes it though so it shouldn't be a problem for her. Overall Blake had the performance of the night and to me it was his best.moreless
