Mariah Carey week. The judges hate it when they sing her. Let's see if they hate this.

David Archuleta "When You Believe" I always hate him when he performs early. It bored me to sleep. I couldn't listen to the vocals because it was so boring. I didn't like it. 7.8/10

Carly Smithson "Without You" I liked it. I thought it was a good performance in my opinion she'll be safe. 8.8/10

Syesha Mercado "Vanishing" I loved it. I thought it was fantastic! The vocals were great. I've never heard of the song though. 9.8/10

Brooke White "Hero" Okay, not the best I've heard from her. I didn't hate it though. But, I didn't love it either. She might be in trouble. 8.3/10

Kristy Lee Cook "Forever" I thought it wasn't that good. It was not top 7 material. I think it'll be the end of the road for her. 7.6/10

David Cook "Always Be My Baby" A guy sang that!!!! Anyway, I LOVED it. It was so perfect. Best this season. 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason Castro "I Don't Want To Cry" It's hard to do great after last performance. I didn't like it. I think he might be in trouble. 8.1/10

Bottom 3: David Archuleta, Kristy Lee Cook, and Jason Castro
Bottom 2: David Archuleta & Kristy Lee Cook

I've never been a big fan of Mariah Carey so I don't know many of her songs, but I was impressed by some of the idols in this episode. The guys kicked the girls butts. I didn't think any of the girls did very well. I forgot all of their performances. I really thought David Archuleta did bad, but the judges said he did good...so...I still don't like him. Jason Castro is the same old thing over and over. I like his style, but he just has nothing else. David Cook was amazing and I really think he has the most potential of all of the idols.moreless
  • I enjoyed this episode

    "Superb"
I think they were all pretty good in this one, who ever gets sent home in the results show will be as much as surprise as it was when Michael was sent home, unless it's Jason whose sent home, I haven't liked him from the beginning. I enjoyed Carly, Kristy, Brooke, and David Cooks songs. David Cook made the song completely his own that was my favorite of the night. I love those three, the other four to me are fair game, but I want Jason to go, he hasn't changed his style at all since he became one of the top 24.moreless
  • The most probable bottome 3 tonight and be voted-off.. Performers should have these qualities: 1. Voice Quality 2. Great Interpretation 3. Pick the Hard but doable song within your range 4. Good listener to the judges(that's whmoreless

I think Kristy Lee Cook or Brooke should be in the bottom 3. and ( Carly or Jason) but more of Jason. I'm really a great fan of Carly. But Kristy should be voted off. Jason never learn and change his style. Brooke last nyt missed chords in piano and made the song out of tempo in the last part and she's not connected. No good
Kristy voice quality not good enough to be compare to the other six performers. She should leave.
Carly" I,m a big fan of yours from the start." but I think u need to be in the bottom three or jason. Be more innovative in your song. Like david cook or David A. Voice quality, You or David C will be the AI champ. I know it's hard to think when u have been in the bottom 3. Don;t let your fear tear u apart. That's part of the game. beat the odds!!! don't stay safe, have riskmoreless
  • My bottom three

    7.0
    "Good"
Carly did terrible in the beginning of her performance and it will count against her. The rest of her performance we've all heard before and has lost its luster.

I didn't think David C was particularly impressive, but he won't wind up there because this has stopped being a singing competition weeks ago.

I predict Brooke will end up in the bottom three because of the facial reactions she gave when Simon condemned her performance. I know she didn't verbally say anything, but her look said it loud and clear: "I disagree emphatically!" In other words, you don't have to say it, you can just look the part and it counts as the same thing. Afterwards she tried to rectify her mistake by claiming she agreed with Simon's negative remarks (a desperate attempt to salvage whatever she could and observe proper AI etiquette). But it's too late. America got an eyeful of her incredulous and rather angry-looking facial reactions and I wouldn't be surprised if that alone gets her knocked out.

Kristy hasn't looked more beautiful. She won't make the bottom three because she's got just as big a fan club as David C, David A, or Ukulele Dreadlocks. She shrewdly takes any opportunity to smile sweetly into the camera even as Simon belittles her performance because she knows her ace in the hole is looking good.

One note on Dr. Dreadlocks. This happened last week: I find it funny that he said (after the judges gave their standing ovation) that he had just bought the ukulele the week before and played it for the first time in his performance. Which just goes to show you how much the judges know.

It's getting painful to watch David A sing. He wheezes through the song and struggles to hold a long note. And then the big gasp for air.

As for the final bottom three, I believe it will be Syesha. Not based on performance, but because of the fan clubs the others have going.

    Bottom three: Carly, Brooke, Syeshamoreless

    • Simon: (regarding David Cook's performance) David, it was sort of like coming out of karaoke hell (loud booing from audience) into... Paula: Into...? Simon: Into a breath of fresh air (cheers and applause) because that's what it was -- it was daring, it was original, it stood out by a mile, and this is a sign of a great potential artist -- someone who takes risks. Congratulations!

    • Simon: (critiquing Brooke's performance) It was a bit like ordering a hamburger and only getting the bun.

    • Ryan: I have a feeling Randy's itching to do the single "Touch My Body," don't you?
