  • paris and taylor shine. katharine good but overrated. kellie is just unbearable. everyone else's are OK.

i love jazz, so needless to say i love this episode. and luckily everyone except kellie does well. paris is my favorite...the song she picked is beautiful and her voice sends shiver down the back of my neck. katharine's song is lovely too and her voice is also lovely, but sorry...i don't think she makes others look like amateurs!! she doesn't give me goosebumps the way paris does (and i listen to the mp3s first before watching). i think she, paris and taylor make the top 3 that night. kellie's sorry look is more unbearable than ever...i couldn't even bear to look at the screen when she talks to the judges. when paula don't have anything good to say, she'll just wander and tell how good the kids look and how they'll be great in acting. overall, fantastic jazzy night.moreless
  • The top seven take on great American standards and work with vocal coach Rod "Do ya think I'm sexy" Stewart.

Idol was back in fine form from the last couple of weeks where the theme just didn't work. I'm glad the finalists were doing standards and not Rod's songs because I don't think I could've listened to Ace sing "..sexy" or "hot legs" through his nose.

Chris -- Yum, yum, yum. The boy is too hot and his tender rendition of "Wonderful World" gave me chills.

Taylor -- started off Sam Cooke's "You send me" in an uncharacteristically low-key way, but finished it like a stick of dynamite. He is completely original and can sing anything. You know when they're lampooning you on SNL, you've done something right!

Katherine -- She was breath-taking last night. She looked and sounded like an angel singing "Someone to Watch Over Me". Something tells me she won't have a problem in that department, nor in having a major singing career.

Elliot -- A wonderful voice, but Simon was right that he plays it too safe. I don't think he can win, but I'm sure hoping he stays around a little longer. The boy can definitely sing.

Paris -- She did a good job, but she's too young for this competition. She has a fabulous career ahead of her, but I think she entered Idol a couple of years early.

Kellie -- This was not her genre and her "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" was pretty bad. Country is her thing and she does that well. She is likely to go home tonight or next week.

Ace -- Definitely not his worst singing performance, but it's time for him to go. He looked like Euro-trash last night with his slicked back pony tail. He needs to stop singing, get a haircut, and let that great smile make his money for him. I saw some clips of him when he had short hair from The Jimmy Kimmel Show and he was actually very cute. Singing just not your thing, man. Time to leave.

Final three: Chris, Taylor, Katherine. I still think Chris will win.

How to vote after such an episode? Everyone performed very well, with the exception of Kellie who seemed oddly out of her element. My favorites were Chris, for finally letting us hear the nice quality of his voice, and Taylor and Katherine. I must say that Elliott, Ace and Paris were also wonderful. Kellie hit some bad notes, and you could almost see her agony as she performed. Poor girl. A side note about Kellie: although I'd started to believe that her 'dumb blonde' act was just that -- an act -- after last night I'm wondering if she really is that naive. I don't know that she'll go home tonight .. she has a nice fan base. I fear for Ace, Paris and Elliott slightly more.moreless

This was much much better than I expected they all did well except Kellie, she was a diaster I really don't
personally like Katherine or Paris, but I have to admit they did prety good Not the hugest Elliot fan, but he is growing on me, sadly Two of My Faves MAndisa and Bucky are gone but my remaining three did a wonderful Job, Chris suprised everyone with toning it done and showing what a great voice he has, as did Ace, he looked so nice in that suit, And Taylor showed his Blue eyed soul, a great episode that I thought may not of been so greatmoreless

I think they were all good last nigtht. I felt sorry for Kellie Pickler, everyone has a bad night. I don\\\'t think she should go home. I think Katherine, Chris and Taylor were the best. It is Hard to pick. This contest could go any way. I think the next to go home is going to be Elliot or Ace. They are all good.
