The Top 12 (minus Bo and Carrie) sang a Beach Boys Medley, which featured the following songs: "Fun, Fun, Fun", "Barbara Anne", "In My Room", "Surfer Girl", "I Get Around" and "Good Vibrations".
Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood both sang a song from the previous night, with Bo singing "Vehicle" and Carrie singing "Angels Brought Me Here"
Bo and Carrie sang a duet. "Up Where We Belong" by Joe Crocker and Jennifer Warnes
There was a celebrity Medley in which the different contestants sang with their Idols. This is the first time celebrities have sung with the Idols. The medley included: "Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts (performed by Carrie and Rascal Flatts), "I Believe I can Fly" by R Kelly (performed by Anthony, Anwar and Kenny G), "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith (performed by Constantine, Jessica, Nadia and Kenny Wayne Shepherd), "On Broadway" by The Drifters (performed by Scott, Niko and George Benson), "With You I'm Born Again" by Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright (performed by Vonzell and Billy Preston),"Every Time I Close My Eyes" by Babyface (performed by Mikalah, Lindsey and Babyface) and "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynrd Skynrd (performed by Bo and Lynrd Skynrd-later joined by all the rest of the performers).
Carrie performed what would be her debut single "Inside Your Heaven" after it was announced she won.
When Simon was being interviewed by Ryan there was a lot of technical issues when they tried talking to La Toya and Matt.
After Bo's solo performance Ryan announced that they would be visiting Carrie's home and then a scene from Carrie's hometown came up on the screen then switched the the AI symbol then back again.
When Ryan was talking to La Toya you could see a hand in the bottom right of the screen.
At one point it sounded like La Toya called Bo, Bo Brice.
Season 3 contestants were special correspondents in the Top 2's home states. La Toya was in Alabama (Bo) and Matt Rogers was in Oklahoma (Carrie). Simon thought that La Toya was drunk and that Matt did such a good job he should co-host with Ryan next year.
Mikalah Gordon hosted the red carpet.
Carrie Underwood was never in the bottom 3.
Bo released his first single on June 21st, 2005, which was the highest seller at Barnes and Noble. Bice's album contains the tracks: Inside Your Heaven, which was the same as Carrie Underwood's, and Vehicle.
After all the performances a montage of the season was played with the song "Keeping the Dream Alive" by Munchener Freiheit. This is the first time that there was no live performance from a celebrity during the season recap.
There were some season 3 contestants in the audience.
Ryan mentioned that in the previous week there was less than 2% between Carrie and Bo.
One of the "Australian Idol" judges said "this is a pen, not a magic wand", which is exactly the same thing Simon said to a contestant during the season 1 auditions in "American Idol".
After Vonzell was eliminated she didn't sing again, but rather there was a group number. The group number was "United We Stand" by The Brotherhood of Man

Each contestant performed a song from the previous night after their trip home video was shown.
After Vonzell's last performance the music started before Simon got to critique and they had to stop it quickly so Simon could speak.
Right after Bo's first song you could see a stagehand on the set, then when the camera switched to the judges desk you can see another one by the judges table.
There were no video clips before the first two songs, but during the last round there was a video of the Judges' Choice being announced.
Clive Davis was the one and only guest judge this season, during this episode.
