    7.0
There were A LOT of surprises that night.

Tamyra Gray "New Attitude"- Umm... wow. I didn't like it at all. Honestly, it was an awful performance and she better have a showstopping one next or else she will get the boot.

Nikki McKibben "Mary Jane"- That was possibly her best performance to date. I liked that. She sang it well and did a great job. I lo- I lo- I loved it.

Kelly Clarkson "It's Raining Men" No surprise. Perfection. Nothing more, nothing less. Now after Tamyra's awful performance, she is the best one in this competition.

Justin Guarini "Get Here" I'm speechless. Perfection. Just, wow. This is going to be my shortest review for a single contestant cause, wow.

    After first half,

    Bottom 2: Tamyra and Nikki

Eliminated Ta- Ta- Tamyra (that was hard)

Tamyra Gray "Feel The Fire" She's back! Another great performance by her. I think that performance saved her from elimination. Now let's see how Nikki does.

Nikki McKibben "I'm The Only One" Her best night by a million miles. I think she sang it well, great song choice, and who knows, she might beat Tamyra to the final three.

Kelly Clarkson "I Surrender" Guarenteed in final three and finale. Another perfect performance. Singing wise, she has never failed me. I love her. She is great. What more do you want me to say?

Justin Guarini "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" From perfection to awful. That performance was a train wreck, worse than Tamyra's first performance. That was a mess and I hope he knows that.

    Based on second half,

    Bottom 2: Nikki and Justin

    Eliminated: Justin

Baseon on whole night (my opinion)

    Bottom 2: Tamyra and Justin

    Eliminated: Justinmoreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • A video only played before the first song of each contestant. For their second song, they just came out and sang after being introduced.

  • QUOTES (0)

  • NOTES (1)

    • Each contestant sings two songs for the first time ever. The contestants can sing songs from either the 1980's or the 1990's or both. The songs sung tonight were:
Tamyra Gray-"New Attitude" by Patti LaBelle (1985)
Nikki McKibbin-"Mary Jane" by Alanis Morissette (1995)
Kelly Clarkson-"It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls (1982)
Justin Guarini - "Get Here" by Oleta Adams (1990)
*Tamyra Gray-"Feel the Fire" by Stephanie Mills (1979)
*Nikki McKibbin-"I'm the Only One" by Melissa Etheridge (1993)
*Kelly Clarkson-"I Surrender" by Celine Dion (2002)
Justin Guarini-"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" by Michael Jackson (1983)

*Nikki sang two songs from the 1990's however there was no specification that they had to do one from each decade. *Tamyra's second song was originally released in 1979, not the 80's OR 90's. Kelly's second song was originally released in 2002, not the 80's OR 90's. It is not explained why Tamyra or Kelly were allowed to perform songs outside of those decades (although Tamyra's is somewhat understandable, being just a year off). This is the first of a number of times the rule is broken when the theme is a specific decade, without any explanation as to why.
