      • A joke made from this episode was that "The Big Surprise" was that Brian Dunkleman (Season 1's American Idol Co-Host) would come back and host. It didn't really happen though.

      • Justin Guarini, last seasons runner up from American Idol made a special guest appearence during the Wildcard show.

      • Differences between last year's Wild Card show: There were 9 singers instead of 5 Songs were done with a track instead of just a piano like the rest of the Semi-Finals Instead of the judges picking the winner live, it was divided into two episodes There were contestants from the whole season, instead of just the Top 32. Four people got to move on instead of one. All three judges picked one and America voted for one. This would make a Top 12 instead of 10, which was the big "twist" Simon talked about the previous episode.
