This show is wonderful. Should be a little more picky on the women they choose, but overall, it is interesting. I think the ladies on the show should show more respect for other peoples culture.
Those women do not represent American women. I am disgusted at the women who were chosen to go to England. If I had the chance, I would show everyone that there are American women who do have class. I wouldn't make a complete fool of myself. I was raised with manners. I am a small town country girl living in the State of Texas. You don't have to have alot of money to have class. Not all Americans are rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. Granted, I never knew how to make real tea either, but I wouldn't have barely listened and made so many mistakes. Those girls only care about being "cool". Its about respect. To get respect you must first give respect. To anyone that reads this, please do not base your opinions of American women off of these childish girls. Its bad enough America has a bad reputation. Some of us in America, that are good, honest and hard working people do not deserve such a reputation. Granted the bad gets noticed first because it stands out more. Everyone loves to judge bad behavior. Its those that are good that hardly get recognized for their efforts. Princess Diana was a role model for me. Doing things for other people in need. She has touched my life just as much as yours. I would never let her down. She was recognized by the world for her good. And she never judged a book by its cover either. America is my cover, but I am a better book than the cover looks.
The girls on this show are hardly attractive, and it seems impossible that any of them could be a princess. the girls have no sense of class while in a group discussion and show no respect for Our country. Do they care about their reputation at all?
The show itself is very original and a great idea, But none of the girls they picked even show a flicker of what a royal person should act like. They act like trailer trash people who have no sense of family, education, or faith. They go to bars instead of Enlightening themselves and act very distasteful towards one another. They are very arrogant and have no sense of humility. Did they pick any girl to really develop a sense of class and regard. I wonder if these girls finished high school. the down fall of the show is picking girls that would never qualify as a princess. It may be the object of the show to bring in very unlikely people to become royalty, but it almost defeats the whole show. Are they trying to make America look bad and say we don't have royal people here, because we definately do.
I think this show could be at the top of ratings of TV watching except that the integrity of the girls chosen to be a part was very lacking. They were taught and judged on very superficial qualities. You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
I was very dissapointed in the lack of integrity and purpose of the girls chosen to be the American Princess. They did not promote any personal standards of quality of character. A princess should be beautiful, poised, and polished. But beyond that she should be looking to be a servant to her country and the people of that country. She should not be of low integrity and/or moral standards. She should be brought up with the presence of mind that with privledge comes responsibility to the less fortunate and have a purpose to find some way to use her influence to improve their lot. She should be neighter pampered nor spoiled but to the contrary, she should be taught how to be considerate of others with sensibilities that preclude true and lasting relationships in family and friends. She should be given recognition of her opinions and her talents should be encouraged and exploited to the improvement of her authority and position. These things are none of the things I see in your show. However, these are the things that grew in Diana to make her The Peoples Princess.
This is a rather cute show. I do find it interesting that this many young women know absolutely nothing about things that are so basic. Life skills so basic as not knowing how to set a proper place setting or which fork to use. Even worse is their lack of formal training in even the simplest real world skills such as research and public speaking. However, what I enjoy is watching them grow and learn with each new challenge. Whether it is public speaking or learning to apply make up correctly. Most of the time it is accomplished with great good humor and determination to at least give it their best shot. Unfortunately, I do see that a number of the young women, some of whom have already been eliminated, think that they already hold some entitlement to being something special without putting forth any effort to be something special. Thankfully that type of personality is being rapidly eliminated with the exception of one young woman. And it is because of this young woman that I was prompted to write. It is Kirsten! She is by far as I have heard put forth several times the most annoying and loud individual there. I would frankly be appalled if she were given the title of American Princess because it would only serve to prove to the rest of the world what a bunch of ill bred cackling hens American women are. Please, in the next elimination, send her home! Do not let her go to the ball!
The young woman that I think has come the farthest is Cassie, I believe it is, the one from Texas who had the braces in the beginning of the show. She is pretty without being pretentious and although is somewhat shy is coming out of her shell and blossoming into a much more polished version of her former self. She is also quick to try her best at each new task given her and always seems to work very hard for her achievements. I believe that in the end with the appropriate training and education that she would make a fine representative of the USA. Overall though it is just a fun way to spend an hour Sometimes enjoying the mishaps these young women get into but even more so their endearing and many times hard won achievements.
In closing, I sincerely hope that Cassie finds it in herself to bring out the best that those of us in TV land can see and be the New American Princess and an upstanding representative of the USA!
I think it is almost a year ago I watched this show and I loved it if I remember correctly there was a cute quy in it :) I am not sure what his name was I think Phillip but I am not 100% sure about this but of cource also the rest of the show was great I loved just the basic idea of the show and I hope it will return but I dont think that will happen but maybe....
I watch the Australian version as well and when the American version started i thought it was the same show because every single task was the same, from designing there own dresses to making puplin speeches. Also the Australian version gives $100 000 worth of cash and prizes. Oh sorry, American dollar is worth more.
The idea is good (On behalf of the Aussie show as well) but it gets boring.
This show was very informative, some of the things the girls needed to accomplish in order to stay in the contest were difficult to accomplish in the short amount of time they had to prove themselves worthy of the title princess, but because of this it forced them to pay attention and to remember what they had been taught previously.
I find myself taking some of those \"princess\" traits and using them in every day life.
One of the things I thought could be changed about the show would be that there were more things for the girls to accomplish in a much longer amount of time.
This show has promise, but if they do it again next season, they need to tweak some things. If attitude, charm and grace become the deciding factors, the show will get a lot better.
The judges on this show obviously went out of their way to select a group of girls who would provide some stark contrasts. Among the lineup were a former pageant queen, a full-figured office manager with a rebellious streak, a conservative christian who had never been away from home except for a hunting camp, one contestant who seemed to be delusional and got on the nerves of all but one other contestant, a young woman who lived in an area that looked poverty stricken but whose ancestors were royalty, and a substitute teacher who refused to conform. While all of the girls showed a lot of promise, there were times that I was left wondering how some were allowed to continue on while girls who were working harder and showed more potential were eliminated. My personal favorite was eliminated before the final round, presumably because she did not exhibit as much physical beauty as some of the other contestants. It's not as though all of the European royalty are movie stars anyway. If, in the future, attitude, charm and grace are the deciding factors, the show will get a lot better.
I only got to see the last episode, but I liked it. In fact, I liked it so much that I want to be on the show. I think I was destined for royalty, so if you all have any information I please e-mail me. Can't wait to hear from U!!
I have to say, at first i thought of this show as, "just another show". But after watching about 2 episodes, the final choice being the second episoed, I found it to be very refreashing. I found this to be refreashing because this show is my dream! And to be able to actually watch it on television really turns me back into what I really am. I say this because as everyone knows, as you grow older you tend to loose a lot of your dreams and wishes. I always told myself I would not under any circumstance. That my prince is still out there and all my dreams will come true if you just believe! I now believe once again. This time not just for myself, but for my 6 year old daughter as well and I look forward to another show. Maybe even to be on one myself would be outstanding! :+)
The idea of English royalty titles being offered to random contestants sounds rather fake, but in all due respect for the honorable judges that were wonderful host, the episode idea in context was quite commendable and dutifully enchanting. This title emb
Why not make an actual yearly competition for young contestants to strive each season for the title of Lady as opposed to Princess, because in America women can all strive to become ladies of notoriety and good standards. We wouldn’t want to take away from the rich tradition of the princess, heir to their thrones. Fine etiquette schools have been remised through a lack establishing a desire for living the social class of society thereby indulging in appropriate manners which is a sense of [good breeding]. I offer a rating of seven as it could have a little room to increase its all around and fair competition. I'm hoping for a series of shows on The Lady Of____ hosted by the UK and contestants from America.
I thought The American Princess show was very good. I have been watching it since it started. One thing, can someone tell me who won. I fell asleep at the last 10 minutes of the show last night 9/11/05. Will someone please tell me who won so all of my watching will have not been in vane. Please tell me?
I rate this a 9 because it gives a since of hope and a fairy tale come true. Many girls always had this dream of becoming cinderella. Well this show gives them hope to be truly cinderella. My daughter is almost 18 and she always said she would like to be a true princess. She said she wish she could marry prince William so she can be a princess and then this show came on. She was astound. So it gives hope to those who are not born into royalty. She would love to be on this show if anyone knows how to get on it, please email me
Ok, I haven\'t seen this show but my friend told me about it and well, I\'ll be catching the next episode this sunday at 10. By the way if anyone knows how to apply for the next season, please post it!!! I would be the perfect American Princess!
Over all the show is full of enjoyment. I look forward to every week when it airs and continue to get excited over who will be picked as americas first princess. I do however belive that the girls need a little more training, over a couple months time.. and not in a few weeks.. However I will continue to watch the show if there indeed is another season.
I love this show but I think all 20 contestants should have been given a month of really intensive training before the eliminations started.I liked Molly, she had some very good qualities but was just a little shy & lacking in self-confidence. With enough training she could well have been a *princess*. It seemed as though someone thought she just was'nt *pretty* enough. Kudo's to Catherine Oxenberg who pointed out that Europe has its share of frumpy princesses! I think that most of the girls could never had made it but the only 2 I was rooting for were Molly & Michelle. Now Molly is gone, Michelle remains & I think she has more *princess personality* than the others do.
I am delighted to see average to beautiful girls chosen to compete for the title of American Princess, allowing some to experience what they may never have the means to do, meet some rather interesting characters (an understatement) and to travel Abroad.
The two prior reviews are sad examples of what review is about. This show is very interesting. I look forward to seeing the contestants grow into lovely young ladies. It is every young girls desire to be a Princess; fun yet serious, and for one young woman, a dream come true.
An authentic title should not be given to anyone in a reality show. You can not learn to be a princess in one month, you should grow up with it. What surprised me the most was that they are not even a good "material" to become a princess...
I was very surprised watching that show. I realize it is not polite to tell others about their mistakes, but those girls are no princesses! They are very nice and I like them, but everyone of them is much too small to be a princess. We all know, that every real princess had to learn how to behave, but not in one month! They grew up with it and of course nobody could see it on TV. Those things should never be public. An artist should show his/hers work, when it is finished not while doing it. Those very nice girls in the show were not even a good "material" to become a princess. They did not know basic things about savior-vivre, that every chid knows. Even though all the candidates are very nice and sweet, none deserves an authentic title.
Though I havent' seen this but I would love to be on it if there is any information on how to sign up for next season let me know. I would make the perfect AMERICAN PRINCESS!!!!
I just want to be on this show! It looks like it will be awesome and funny. It will be great to see what it takes to be a princess. I can't wait to watch this show this fall. I hope it is everything I am expecting it to be.
never seen it
