I happen to know personally very well the woman this person is condeming above. The actual video was almost 4 minutes in length which I saw myself. Had the entire video been shown in it's entirity, there wouldn't be this question. There was no tears whatsoever. The boy in question loves drama and would "cry" and then stop at the drop of a hat (no tears) and start talking about moths and butterflies and then go back to the quandry he was in like a light switch was turned. The owner of the video didn't start filming until she viewed the obvious dramatics. At the end of the full length video, he was sitting there peacefully talking about the dogs' toenails. As to "humiliating the child for the entire world" and the "little boy will need prayers", the little boy was 5 when the video was shot and 11 when he appeared on camera. Although he was not aware that the video had been sent in, the mother gave him a choice as to whether or not he wanted this to go on TV. His answer was a resounding "YES". It's still the dream come true of a lifetime for him. He got to go to Disney Land, Sea World, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studies, and got to swim in the ocean (which is something he had talked about for years). His peers at school never teased him at all and instead congratulated him and were in awe that they were in the presence of a "movie star". He also got a computer out of the deal and money in his college fund for college. He talks fondly about everything to do this day and tells me he has absolutely no regrets.
So perhaps my prayers should go out to sing4peace (where's the irony in that log-in name??) that she should think twice about being so judgmental and throwing stones at that which she knows little to nothing about.
