Episode Recap

The judges hit New York for two days of auditions. All hope looks lost until the first sight of talent is found. In all eight acts made it to Vegas and six were sent packing.

Tallan Noble Latz was the first person to make it through to Vegas. He impressed the judges with his ability to play the Blues on a guitar at the age of nine. He had been playing the guitar for four years prior to this. Sharon thought he played great and had the vibe. David said he had a major career ahead of him, while Piers said he was the most extraordinary thing he'd ever seen his whole life. All three judges gave him a yes.

The next act to make it through was seventy four year old Tony Ferrante. Although his dancing was a little odd, Sharon and David passed him through, while Piers said 100% no, no, no. Sharon thought he was a snazzy mover and very talented. Odds are he won't make it past Vegas.

The third act to make it through was dancer, Arthur Gulkarou. He took advantage of the fact that he seemed to have no bones and could just bend his arms any way he wanted.

The next act to make it through was first season semifinalist, Nathan Burton, the magician. They could have shown more of his act, but he was on the show before. Many people thought he should have made it to the finals in season one, so maybe this time he will get his chance.

Next up was a group of acrobats called the African High Flyers. The group performed a very impressive acrobatic routine that was full of precision and balance. They ranged in age from twenty four to thirty five. They have a high potential of making to through Vegas and to the top forty show.

Act number seven brought another familiar face to some. She is Kelli Glover, who was a semifinalist in season one of American Idol. She sang "Listen" by Beyonce. David thought she did a great, great, great job and was happy that she never gave up on her dream. Piers wasn't sure if she could win the show. All three judges passed her onto the next round.

The eight act to make it were dancers known as the Platt Brothers. Their act started off like any other typical dance group, but then as one brother pretended to get water out of faucet, the men came alive. They put a unique and creative twist on their dance that won everyone over. Sharon really liked what they did, while David said they were very creative. Piers added that they had sex appeal from the ladies and they've got a shot because of it.

The last act to make it through in this episode was an Acapella group called The Spiritual Harmonizers. The group was made up of postal office workers between the ages of twenty one and seventy six. They sang "It's so Hard to Say Good-bye to Yesterday" by Boyz II Men. The men's voices all blended and meshed together very nicely and the lead singer showed a lot of talent according to Piers. David thought they were awesome. Piers compared the lead singer to a young Stevie Wonder. The group passed through with a yes from all the judges. Look for the to make it at least to the semifinals.
