  • Not Exactly Nail Biting.

Well season 2 is over and the field was narrowed to 4 finalists who performed very well. I was amazed as were the judges from the get-go how well the ventriliquist performed such difficult impressions of singers and nailed them. For the finale he did roy oberson's crying which is not easy to do by itself amd made harder having to coordinate the dummy's movements and singing correctly to his singing. Well done and a well done to butterscotch, Chas and ms irwin whom I thought her selection of song for the final test could have been better than somewhere over the rainbow. Her singing style was way different than the original and may have hurt her in the votes. Well I look frward to next year but please get rid of Hasselhoff he does nothing for the show.moreless
  • Congratulations to Terry Fator for being recognized as the best and most original talent this season!

It was a good show for tonight. I enjoyed seeing how Terry Fator acted when he won. I felt like he was an overjoyed young kid in the body of a grown adult! In the order of appearance, Butterscotch (one of my favorites) performed a version of Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girl." I did not love the performance simply because the song itself was terrible. Essentially (maybe because I love the background music so much), I hated how Sean Kingston totally butchered the use of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me" to sing a sad love song when the original was about hope and courage. I was even sadder to hear that this song is #1 on the music charts. Terrible.

Then we move on to the incomparable Terry Fator! I never dreamed that there would be a contestant who would admit to loving Kermit the Frog and the Muppets. That was totally awesome! I was thinking "this guy is going to go really far." What a guy!

Next, we get the wonderfully talented reggae Cas Haley who is united by UB40 (longtime favorite band of mine). They do a wonderful take on "Red, Red Wine." I feel Cas is destined for success after listening to the performance. Go Cas!

Finally, we get the beautiful Julienne Irwin, who is paired with Taylor Swift. Not even 16 yet (she's 14), she sings like she's sung for 15 years! I know the math doesn't work, but I cannot wait for her first CD to come out!

At the end, I'm happy that Terry won! He's an incredible guy and I look forward to seeing his first Las Vegas show.moreless
