Tyra Banks
Host/Judge
Tyra Banks grew up in Inglewood, California. Her parents are Carolyn London (a photographer) and Don Banks. Her parents divorced when she was six years old and she regards her mum as her best friend.
She began her television career as an actress with recurring roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Felicity. She starred in the Disney made-for-television movie, Life. Tyra's film experience includes leading roles in John Singleton's Higher Learning and Jerry Bruckheimer's Coyote Ugly.
Tyra began her modeling career in Europe and evolved into a world-renowned supermodel who has become a pioneer in the industry. She was the first African-American woman to grace the covers of GQ, Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue and the Victoria's Secret catalog. In 1997, she received the prestigious Michael Award for Supermodel of the Year. She later secured an exclusive contract with Victoria's Secret. In addition, Banks has been contracted by Swatch and Cover Girl, and has appeared in ad campaigns for Nike, Pepsi, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana.
Tyra also authored Tyra's Beauty Inside & Out, published by Harper Collins (1998).
Tyra founded T-Zone, an annual weeklong summer camp experience, which is a leadership and life skills development program for primarily disadvantaged teen girls in the greater Los Angeles area. As of 2005, more than 240 girls have gone through the program. In addition, Tyra established "The Tyra Banks Scholarship" in 1994, a fund that grants African-American girls the opportunity to attend her alma mater, Immaculate Heart High School, an all-girls private school in Los Angeles.

Jay Manuel was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jay, a photoshoot stylist, make up artist and guest judge, made his debut on the first cycle of America's Next Top Model as the thoughtful make-up artist and photo director who offered his sharp tongue, colorful commentary and industry expertise to help transform the girls from bland to glam. He has worked in "the business of managing to aesthetic" for seven years. His list of clients have included Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Victoria's Secret and Revlon. Manuel has also had the opportunity to work with such noted photographers as Herb Ritts, Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, and Francesco Scavullo. Jay's varied artistic palate and innate sense of aesthetics has given celebrities including Tyra Banks, Alicia Silverstone, Rebecca Romijn, Mya, Kim Cattrall, Iman, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon and Vanessa Williams, Patti LaBelle, Pink, David Bowie and Jennifer Lopez. Barker was born in London and educated in the English countryside. His introduction to the fashion industry was in the mid 1980s when he appeared on "The Clothes Show," a televised model search in England. This launched his successful modeling career, which took him all over the world working for fashion giants such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Gaultier, Kenzo, Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren. After a decade in front of the camera, Barker followed his dream to become a photographer and moved to the other side of the lens. By 1996, Barker had launched his own photo studio, Studio NB, in Manhattan's fashionable Meat Packing District. Model couple Cristen Chin, and Nigel Barker met back on September 1994 through Barker's friend and agent in Milan. Barker knew immediately he had met the woman of his life. But it took him two months to convince Chin that he "was worthy" before she agreed to become his girlfriend. To prove just how serious he was, Barker moved from his native England to Paris, where Chin was living, and when she decided to move to New York, he followed her again. After three years of dating, Chin -- who has recently been seen in Glamour, Cosmopolitan and French Vogue, they got married in October 16th, 2001, in Fairhope, in Alabama where she's from. Nowadays, Nigel Barker is a renowned high fashion photographer, makes his debut as a expert judge on AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL in January 2004 on UPN channel network.
