For this week's challenge, the girls split up into teams of three and had to create a PSA for Keep A Child Alive. Heather, Jenah and Ambreal's team won. Jenah and Ambreal received gift baskets from Carol's Daughter valued at $500 each, but since Heather's name was pulled in a drawing she got to do a photo shoot for Carol's Daughter, art directed by Mary J. Blige.
The photo shoot theme this week is 'recycling':
Heather - aluminum cans
Chantal - shredded paper
Sarah - garbage bags
Saleisha - car parts
Ebony - bubble wrap
Bianca - oil
Lisa - plastic bottles
Ambreal - newspaper
This week Ebony and Ambreal were in the bottom two. Ebony was selected to stay but shocked everyone when she said she wanted to leave. Although disgusted with her being a quitter, Tyra allowed Ebony to go and Ambreal got to stay in her place.
The episode is named for Ambreal, who treasures a mango because model Tyson Beckford took a bite out of it.
Miss Jay's elimination "tribute" (his growing afro) is poked fun at by judge Nigel Barker, who also sports an afro during panel.
Miss Jay: (about Ebony) I want to wrap her ass up in that bubble wrap, put her in one of Jenah's cartons and ship her out.
Tyra: All right, ladies and gentlemen... (she looks at Miss Jay) Oh--wait, which one are you?
(the judges all laugh)
Ebony: (crying) Modeling, I don't think, is for me.
Tyra: You know what I think is not for you? I don't think it's modeling. I think it's people telling you what to do. I think it's people telling you that you're not perfect. I think that's what you can't handle. And the most unattractive thing in the world to me is a quitter. And for that...you can go.
This episode marks the second time a girl has voluntarily left the competition, the first being Cassandra from Cycle 5.
Heather is Covergirl of the Week for the fourth week in a row.
