  • The girls practice dancing and then they participate in Tyra's music video

    7.6
This episode focused way to much on Tyra and her career as a singer. The girls were never bested on their modeling abilities and they never even did a photo shoot. All they did was learn how to dance. Which, it was interesting to see their dancing abilities. I was so suprised and impressed that Shandi was so good. After they learned how to dance they participated in Tyra's music video. This was just kind of boring because we had already seen them do a lot of dancing. I was also really said to see Sarah go and I don't think she should have left. The one thing that kept this episode from being horrible was that their was still some character development. It was interesting to see how April wants it so bad. I also enjoyed seeing what was going on with Shandi and her boyfriend. This episode had some good parts but it was just to focused on Tyra.moreless
  • Painful to watch because my girl Sara got sent home.

    4.0
I thought this episode had no meaning to it, and it was all about Tyra and her publicity. Sara should not have been sent home, and I'm not saying that just because she was my favorite, or because we have the same name. Right before Sara gets eliminated, Tyra has to talk about herself some more. At least what she had to say had some meaning to it. Oh, and that's not it. After she's done talking about herself we get to watch the premiere of her new music video! This show is supposed to focus on the contestants, not you Tyra. Let's keep it like that.moreless
  • A good episode, but it was all about Tyra.

    7.7
This was a good episode; it held my interest and I could watch it again, but it's not one of the best ones. One of the things that bothered me was that this episode seemed to focus on Tyra's self publicity rather than the models-to-be. We tuned in to watch 'America's Next Top Model', not 'Tyra Banks - Making The Video'. Aside from Tyra trying to shove her music career down our throats, I didn't like the outcome of the episode - keeping Yoanna and eliminating Sara - and somehow Tyra even managed to make this about her! First she had her talk to the bottom two about how she's trying something new and being judged, and then, after Sara's emotional and touching elimination (for me anyway because Sara was one of my favourites) we had the premiere of Tyra's music video! Note to Tyra - keep the focus of the show on modelling, it's what you're best at.moreless
  • Blantant self-publicity

    4.0
This episode contained the usual bitching, competitions and elminations but there are a few things that made this show seem a little bit surreal. Firstly is the appearence by ODB and his friends as a prize to some of the girls who won a dance competition. It was completely random and made no sense whatsoever. The second was Tyra's use of the show to plug her music career (which obviously didn't take off because I'm wirting this about 2 years after the show was originally made and she doesn't seem to be setting the charts on fire!) She got the girls to provide some dancing for her video which I feel was a blatant misuse of her power and then she showed her video at the end which was definitely shameless! Not a classy move Tyra!moreless

  • NOTES (3)

    • After the debut of her single Tyra decided not to pursue music. She would later comment on the 2/20/08 edition of her talk show, "When I look at my video for 'Shake Ya Body', all I can say is what the heck was I thinking?!"

    • This episode marks the premiere of Tyra Bank's first single, "Shake Ya Body". All of the girls also make cameos in it.

    • This is the first episode without an official photo shoot. Although photos of the girls were taken on the set of the music video, these photos have not appeared on the UPN.com website.
