A new low in Reality TV. This one scrapes the very bottom of the barrel. It almost makes me ashamed to admit I own a television. I rated this only because the scoring system wouldn't allow me to leave it at zero.
Congratulations to Lifetime for creating a new low in reality TV tonight with America's Psychic Challenge. If that smarmy cold reading Lisa Williams wasn't bad enough, they paraded these deluded "contestants" through a family's pain following the murder of their son in a drive-by shooting. Two of my daughters, equally horrified, phoned me to tell me about it. I watched in shock long enough to ensure I was actually seeing what I was seeing… I then turned it off, sickened. I know many of the networks pander to the lowest common denominator but this one takes the cake. I'm not entirely sure who is more despicable, the networks who think so little of their viewers or the companies who enable the production of this voyeuristic garbage by purchasing ad time. Jerry Springer... step aside. This trashy show has exceeded even your "best" efforts.
I missed the first episode because I didn't think it would be worth watching, but I tuned in the following week and found the show to be quite entertaining. I think the only people who would not find it entertaining are those who are totally anti-psychic. As I said before, you don't have to believe in psychics to find the show enjoyable. It even has it's own vixen, at least that is what I think of the one calling herself the white serpent. Her rudeness toward the others who scored far above her is quite disturbing. I find her entertaining but many look forward to seeing her get beaten by one of the blonds or by Jeff. I would like to see another season of this show.
I loved this show. I think it may prove that some are true and some are fake....I was delighted with the charaters and the tasks they had them preform. I always enjoyed these kind of shows...they are not usually advertised I think this topic still bothers the older generation of viewers along with the religious sect. I hope that it opens minds and at the same time lets people know that it isnt going to answer all your questions. I cant wait to see who wins and well they succeed later after the show is over...look at John Edwards! He is awesome.
OK You have a Talent and a useful one at that. I really am impressed with the subject of America's Psychic Challenge. Hosting is very well done...Nice choice!!! I cannot wait for the next show. I hope you are going to help more every day people.
Well now, who finally figured out how to put good psychic ability to the finest use. Although I do not agree with asking a very emotional and grieving family of such a tragedy, to rate psychic ability on the spot. Emotions always get in the way of anyone's decision making. However, I do agree with the family's rating of the number one choice, I sure enough do not agree with choice number two. I believe the Host should have 50% of the say in rating, that way it helps with reality vs emotions and still keeps the family involved. I was more impressed than I thought I would be. You've not trashed any of the psychics (yet) ; and that pleases me. Also, you have used 'psychic' ability for a greater good, in helping people in many aspects of their lives. Awesome Host!!! Awesome Job!!! & Thank you!!!
Can the judges look each other in the eyes? Since when do Christians publically try to villify others in order to win prise money they can't win honestly. Show was good until the last minute. Jacqie has class graciousness + talent
A pretty good show. I thought this might be authentic to the end...then I noticed a bias brewing. This was so transparent that I began to think the "underlying plot" was to actually make people so annoyed by the baited questions to the blonde girl when she was trying to find someone hiding... giving her psychic credit for "tapping into the emotions" ???? and Jacquie should have been scoring way higher..especially in "skeptic" challenge. Anyhow it almost seemed to be a try at causing viewers to become offput by the blonde girl who was being obviously favored. A good show..but next time (if) please keep it fair and don't throw the show at the end.
16 Psychics compete to become AMERICA'S PSYCHIC CHALLENGE Winner.
By Episode 2, You were addicted to the show. But as the SHARP personalities began to clash...The pressure intensified and a very real challenge began taking place behind the scenes.
Excellent concept and a unique way to demonstrate every day psychics amongst us.
With a very real attack taking place behind the scenes on episode 5 , The editors choose to show us the parts they feel are 'viewer Worthy'.
With death threats made by one contestant to 2 others (When the cameras ere not rolling), The tension became all too much for some, As 2 of the psychics 'quietly' quit the show, In fear for their safety. The crime scene was so well described by 1 medium that only parts of her Reading were allowed to air, In fear that it would make the other psychics look bad.
Overall, Brilliant show. Absolutely MUST WATCH, Especially the Dog Challenge in Episode 2, Which is fun for the entire family. Bring on the next Psychic Challenge!!!
