Welcome to the An Evening at the Improv guide.''''Standup comedy from the famous improvisational comedy club in Los Angeles, usually aired at 11:00PM on various nights on A&E. At first the guest hosts were showbiz veterans such as Phillis Diller and Milton Berle, but later the emphasis changed to attract a younger, hipper crowd (e.g. MTV's Martha Quinn). Performers were mostly young talents such as Richard Belzer, Arsenio Hall, Michael Keaton, and Paula Poundstone.''''An earlier version of An Evening at the Improv was syndicated in 1981-1983 with Budd Friedman as host. Wow, what a great and classic comedy series that gave an oportunity to several young comedians. It gave a bunch of young people a chance to show there stuff to a bigger audience since it was on TV. A lot of people got a good start after making an appearance on this show. There were several shows like this over the years, but i haven't seen anything like it in several years. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. This was one of the originals and one of the best. I really , really wish that it was on again. Is there anything like this on the comedy chanel? I've never seen it if there is one. Send me a PM if you know of any shows that are similar to this one.moreless
