I wasn't going to watch this at first but Aprilfox's blog convinced me to give it a shot. A have vague memories of the original movie so my impression will be fresh going in can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'll just say the show had potential, but it fell short imo

Well, I don't know about the UK getting the sole world premier. I'm in Australia I watched it 2 or 3 weeks ago, and they were repeat eps.
Wasn't bad. I thought the choice of actors was interesting (and by interesting I mean I wouldn't have chosen them), but after watching a while it worked.
I doubt it would work as a series - it would just be 'virus of the week', or a viral soapie or something.

    It's worth watching though.

I watched it last night on A&E. I thought it was pretty interesting, and I want to watch the rest tonight.

But it was aired as TV-PG V here, and after I heard the "S" word twice and saw when the people killed others and them selves. Like the guy in the store at ground zero, the officer at the resturant, and the soldiers. I started wondering why it wasn't TV-14, or even TV-MA.

But over all I thought it was cool.

Yeah, I thought it was good, not great. At times it seemed like it was kind of serious to the point of cheesyness... but after watching a bit more, I sort of got into it. The ending of part 1 rocked, and I'm definetely tuning in for part 2.

As for the rating issue, I agree that they might have wanted to up it to TV-14, but really, it wasn't gory or anything, so definetely not TV-MA.

You hear the s-word a few times, and escpecially when the police officer does the triple-homocide + suicide you see graphics you normally see in a TV-14 and higher.

Despite those negative reviews I didn't have a problem with it. It wasn't great but worth the watch and i'm a fan of Benjamin Bratt and he wasn't the pompous jerk he usually comes off to be. I like how they handle the ensemble cast and the multiple stories blended well together. So far ok I hope it ends well with such a great buildup.
