Trance: Dylan, have you ever thought that perhaps you traded the better angels of your nature for the mission you felt you had to do?
Dylan: No, Trance, I haven't. But I am about ready to trade my better nature for an angel who thinks 'Can do'!
Trance: Within seconds, the universe is going to be different.
Dylan: C'mon Trance, it's glass half full time.
Dylan: Harper, I need an update.
Harper: Things are going from bad to worse, Boss.
Dylan: That's not a very good update.
Dylan: (when he finds Beka getting wasted on the Maru) Beka, you never drink.
Beka: That's not true, I do drink. It just seems like never 'cause it's... you know, almost never.
(Trance on Command with her glowing Bonsai)
Trance: Goodbye, Andromeda. Goodbye to your comforts...your joys...your sheltering arms. Goodbye, Maru...Rhade...Harper...Beka...Rommie. Goodbye...Dylan. (Command suddenly gets dark and she gasps)
Andromeda: Terminating conversation.
Trance: Andromeda? Andromeda! (Andromeda heads for the Magog Worldship and Trance transforms into her sun, Bonsai with her, and they go into the center of the Magog Worldship, destroying it)
Trance: The Route of Ages is your way out.
Dylan: It's a way out for all of us.
Trance: No. Just for you. If there is still time.
Dylan: We've got to save as many as we can.
Trance: Not this time.
Dylan: Okay. Then I guess I'll die trying.
(Dylan and Trance walk towards a hanger where his slip fighter waits, her glowing Bonsai with her)
Trance: Don't forget, Dylan, to enter the Route of Ages your timing must be perfect.
Dylan: I need a crew to do that.
Trance: No. You've done it before. Just follow the light.
Dylan: There is no light in space.
Trance: No! Your light, Dylan. As it has always been--your journey...your mission.
Dylan: Trance. (He stops her and they face each other) It's our mission.
Trance: What if you really could go back? Erase the past four years. Never suffer what you have suffered.
Dylan: Start over?
Trance: (nodding) It takes courage to start over.
Dylan: There must be something else.
Trance: Everything you have done has led to this. Perhaps you were not made for times like these. (Dylan scoffs) Then again, perhaps you will go where I will be waiting. (They smile at each other but the smile quickly fade as tears form in Trance's eyes) Now please go. You have to do this. Please. (she whispers "please" as her voice starts breaking)
Dylan (whispers): Yeah. (puts his hand to her cheek and she smiles softly. He kisses her lips softly and backs away from her) It's been nice knowing you, Trance Gemini. (Trance tries to say something to him but no words come from her mouth. Dylan turns away sadly and gets into his slipfighter)
Voice (to Dylan): Have you come home from your journeys? Have you come home from your past? Dream, dear one. Dream.
Harper (to Magog): You could do that. You could kill me last.
Magog: Kill you last? You are the last.
Beka: So I've been thinking. You see I'm uh, I'm kinda trapped. As in absolutely no freakin' way out.
Harper: Yeah, me too.
Beka: Hey, do you remember what you said to me before we boarded the Andromeda for the first time?
Harper: Uh, yeah. I thought there might be treasure.
Beka: Before that. You said--you said it was going to be fun...Well Seamus? It was.
Dylan: The Magog have slaughtered my crew. It's just you and me.
Trance: Actually it's just you. But you were made for this moment. If you stay and fight, and win this battle, you will lose the war. You cannot do that.
Dylan: Trance, fighting is all I know.
Trance: This battle is beneath you. You have to go. I cannot go with you. Andromeda has lost to the Worldship. The Route of Ages is for you. But if you stay, and fight, and die? What will be the point of these past four years?
Dylan: Andromeda? What's the condition of my crew?
Dylan: Andromeda. What's the status of the on-board crew?
Andromeda: All of them are dead. Except the two of you.
Beka: You can't understand. This is the Abyss. I was there. I saw it. These people, they think there's beauty. There isn't. It's just darkness, they're reaching out at darkness. It knows no weakness, Dylan. None.
Dylan: What do you want?
Beka: I want what no one else here seems to want. To live.
Dylan: We're changing that.
Beka: Not fast enough. There are people dying on Arkology already, Dylan, it's insane. These people don't want saving, Dylan, that's the problem. Not me. I don't want to leave you and the crew. But I can't stay. I can't watch.
Dylan: Beka, I owe you more than I can say in this short time. But we will meet again. In happier days. And that you can rest assured.
Man is his own star.
His acts are his angels, good or ill,
While his fatal shadows walk
silently beside him.
