Andy brings Jenny to see the office. She admits being worried about his P.I. work but feels better having come to the office. She wants to meet Wally, the owner of the kebab shop. Andy hears loud voices in the parking lot. Drawn outside he sees Wally arguing with a man.
Andy goes into the restaurant where Simon is already ordering. Simon tastes the food and mentions the chicken is brutal. Wally says he has to order crap chicken at jacked up prices from a company called Transcor or they will burn him to the ground. Andy says he will see what he can do to help.
Andy goes to Transcor. Simon says, "Thanks for letting me come." Andy reminds him he was hiding in the back of the car. They run into a foreman who asks if he can help them. Andy gets nervous and tells the man his name is Barry White. Simon says his name is Victor Espinot. The man asks what kind of chicken they will be serving. They differ in response saying boiled and barbecued. Andy tries to cover saying they barbecue then boil it. The man says it sounds delicious. As they leave the warehouse they see a delivery truck and take a picture of their delivery list.
Andy and Simon return to the office and they found the customers on the list were all happy with the chicken given to them by Transcor. Simon is eating wings and tells Andy they suck. They hear a sound from the parking lot and it is the proprietor of the Jamaican chicken place. He tells them he couldn't talk before because Transcor watches them. He tells Andy and Simon Transcor makes the small businesses take all the bad chicken. He warns them to be careful. Andy asks Simon why they would know he would be involved. As they enter Andy's office they notice the words "Lay OFF" written in feathers on the wall and a chicken launches at Andy.
Andy and Simon go to see Lew at the gym. Lew wants to know what they want and Andy wants to know what he knows about the poultry business. Lew says, "I know it's bad news. Kind of like the pork business only without a conscience." Andy brings Lew up to speed about Wally, Transcor and the chicken. Lew advises Andy to stay out of this or he will be dead.
Andy and Simon are heading to Jenny's barbecue and they are late. Andy realizes he is being followed. He pulls into a liquor store parking lot to lose them. Later, he heads home and Simon teases him about being afraid of the car. Arriving home they see the car parked by his house. Panicked he runs to the back yard to find Jenny and the party are ok. She is happy even. The caterers ran out of burgers and dogs so sent chicken, no extra charge. Hearing the word "chicken" Andy panics and Simon freaks out. Simon runs around the yard yelling the chicken is poisoned.
Jenny tells Andy the Cadillac following them was her boss's car. Andy apologizes saying it is the case he is working on. Jenny says, "You know what you're working on? My last nerve." Andy takes out the trash after the party and Jenny opens their mailbox and finds a note saying, "The chicken wasn't poisoned. But it could have been." Andy wants to back out of the case but Jenny encourages him to stay on the case. A baby is heard crying and Jenny heads to house saying, "Coming Molly." Andy notices the chicken for the party was all inspected by #25.
Andy and Simon go through the trash of the restaurants that got bad chicken and realize the batches of bad chicken have been rubberstamped by #78. Lew arrives and says he knows a woman down at the federal office. Going to the counter at the office they are told Lew's friend, Delores Freeman, is dead. Andy wants to know where Agriculture Inspector #78 is. The man is uncooperative until Lew grabs him, threatening him.
They arrive at the marina where Mr. Larraby, the district manager of the Agriculture department lives. Andy suggests to the man that his inspector is taking bribes. The man invites Andy onto his boat. On the boat Andy notices the opulent surroundings and the man offers that his mother supplies him from family money. Andy says he finds that hard to believe and turns to find Mr. Larraby holding a gun on him.
Lew and Simon see Mr. Larraby with a gun on Andy. Lew says, "Either they're going to a costume party or Andy asked Daniel Boone the wrong question." Simon wants to call the police but Lew tells him no, they would screw things up. Simon asks if he is insane. Lew says yes. Mr. Larraby tells Andy to get into his Bentley. Andy asks if he, as the hostage, should drive. Mr. Larraby tells him, "Nobody but me drives Lady Gabrielle!" Lew and Simon follow them to a chicken plant. Now Lew wants to call the cops. Simon realizes Lew is afraid of chickens. Lew says, "Dude they can live without a head!" Simon teases Lew, who slams his face into the dash.
Inside the warehouse the man who conducted their tour tells Larraby to shoot Andy. Andy offers his accounting services to Larraby and the Larraby declines, referring to Andy as a bookkeeper which angers Andy. Simon hears the shooting and wants to go in. Lew wants to wait for the cops but gives in. Simon tries to climb out the car window and falls to the ground.
Andy is on the run when he runs right into a gun with a laser dot, sighted right on him. Lew shoots the man in the arm, creating the diversion needed for Andy to run. As they make their escape Lew is stalled by a chicken. He points his gun at it saying, "Remember me? I'm Lew Staziak and I'm all grown up now!" He is ready to fire when Simon stops him. Simon ushers the chicken into the slaughter room telling the chicken it will be safe in there. They escape in a Transcor delivery truck as the police arrive.
It is night. Andy is at the office with a walk-in client, Jim Wexler. Jenny calls and Andy tells her he will be home shortly. Suddenly Jim slumps over the desk, a knife in his back. Andy retracts his former statement telling Jenny he might be a little late.
