    Kinky dinky:
Darla and Angel have sex three times. Darla considers herself very good in the sack as she's been doing it for 400years and used to be a professional. She asks Angel was she "Not good?" which is exactly what Buffy says in Innocence. Lorne suggests that Angel give Darla cab fare (I had a friend who always said that if a guy does that/cooks you breakfast afterwards it made you a prostitute. Strangely she is now an unmarried mother). On that topic Cordy impregnated by a demon against her will for the second time. And we always thought Xander was the demon magnet? Of course if you like that sort of thing you can always try Monsters and Angels fetishism

    Captain Subtext;
Apparently the way to tell Angel and Angelus apart is that Angelus wears leather pants? Keith Topping suggests that at the end of the ep Lindsey is 'struggling with his sexuality' but I'm not so sure?

    Questions and observations;
The PTB decide to save Kate, well you would, wouldn't you? How much do I love Lindsey as a lonely drunken teenage buck with a pink carnation, pick up truck, cowboy boots and sledgehammer? Angel uses the 70s term 'pad', well he was about back then, a groovy cat if there ever was one. Angel smashing Lindsey's hand is SUCH a powerful moment, even when you know it's plastic it still makes you wince. Goodbye to Kate who leaves LA, changes her identity and becomes a district attorney in New York before returning to Angel in season 6. Angels observation that if it all means nothing then the smallest act of kindness means everything is just wonderful. Lovely ending too with Cordy being caught by Angel, the gang is back together.

  • Epiphany

    "Perfect"
Epiphany was a perfect and classic episode of Angel. i really enjoyed watching this episode because Angel was seeking to be forgiven by the gang while they were dealing with Cordelia's disappearance. It was interesting that she had a third eye, though litereally in the episode, having visions and such. I think this episode had a great story that brought the characters back together in an unexpected way. This episode had great action, suspensful drama, and great acting. It was a bit of a surprise how Angel got back with the gang, and now I can't wait to watch what happens to them in the next episode!!!!!!!

Epiphany is a fantastic episode in its own right and a wonderful follow up to Reprise. However, this is one major thing that didn't sit right with me.

Following the huge pit of gloomy despair that was Reprise, Epiphany is more of a light hearted affair and one that finally ends the Dark Angel arc and wisely and he was getting almost too broody and needed to snap out of it. It was good to see him trying to save his friends but it was also good they didn't just accept him back without question; their relationships aren't the same anymore and they need to work on things.

The demons this week were more interesting than normal and I was glad they were mainly background material to use for Angel saving Cordy and Wesley. Too many demon scenes is a no-no but I was glad they used them minimally. The writers still haven't learnt: vampires are better. Though I think they use demons more to seperate Angel from Buffy.

Kate made her final appearance in this episode and I was glad; it was the right time for her to go and her ending was good, if undramatic. After all she's been through and all her annoyingness I still liked her in her final episode and was glad she finally accepted the supernatural. The entire "I never invited you in thing" was good and it left you wondering what saved her. I like to believe it wasn't Jasmine though ¬_¬.

The part that didn't sit right with me was Darla's exit in this episode. She has been one of the most central characters this season and we didn't even see her leave. Heck, in her last scene she didn't even have any lines! Whilst I understood why she went (her story HAD to continue next season so that she could come back heavily pregnant. But come on, it wouldn't have killed to see her packing and telling Lindsey she's leaving.

Lindsey was awful in this episode; his entire jealous boyfriend routine was cliched and irritating. Darla was never his girlfriend so he didn't have any right to attack Angel. I, for one, wanted Angel to tell him what happened and then murder him painfully but Angel was back on the path of good so it wouldn't have worked. It was fun to see Angel beat the hell out of him though- it gave us satisfaction. Epiphany is a brilliant episode and a conclusion to the outstanding Darla arc of S2. Besides the Darla exiting mistake they made, it was nonetheless an enjoyable episode and it was a beginning as much as it was an end.

Well here we are Angel has an epiphany after sleeping with Darla he wakes up and realizes that he and his obsession has taken him off track and now he must find his way back. First things first Angel sets out to rescue Kate and finds he is able to enter her home uninvited as Kate is dying of a drug overdose. Once he puts Kate together he heads out to make amends with his old team of Wesley, Cordelia, and the use to be part-timer Gunn. Angel arrives at Wesley's apartment just in time to save Wesley from a group of demons out to kill him, and the wheelchair bound Wesley, who suffered an injury in an earlier episode and certainly not being in any condition to defend himself, and was saved by Angel's arrival. And now we come to the pathetic part of the episode, the part where Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn get to show their immature sides. Wesley of course takes the stern stiff tempered route that while understandable, certainly being angered by Angel's treatment should be very grateful that Angel gave him an opportunity to be a part of his team when he had nothing else and was down and out. Cordelia and Angel having been together since episode 1 certainly one can feel her hurt, but then again Cordelia's continuous intrusive nature can be a bit overbearing and at a time when Angel was going through this phase the most that she could offer was annoyance, remember the Cordelia of season 1, and half of season 2 was not the Cordelia of season 3. In season 3 she was a lot more grown, experienced, and mature to counsel Angel and help to keep him grounded. Then there's Gunn whose attitude was moronic, if there's one thing that was irritating the most was his cockiness, trying to come off hard toward Angel even though he'd only been a part-timer to begin with, and had no personal relationship with Angel as of yet. Gunn and Wesley doing that goofy handshake, and all loving on each other for show was way too much, Gunn of all people was the least hurt by Angel's actions so his idiotic behavior made him look like well an idiot. Another thing for three people feeling so hurt and finding Angel's coldness so painful certainly had no problem being equally as cold and then some. It is perfectly understandable that Wesley and Cordelia would be hurt by Angel's rejection and their concern for him prior to his rejection was understandable, but Angel having to deal with a unique situation that none of them could understand you would think that they as mature adults could cut him some slack. Putting Wesley in charge of the group was a good idea because Wesley taking on this position helped to transform him positively, and what would probably be one of the best character transformations during the entire series. Next up would be Lindsay's pathetic obsession with Darla. Lindsay upon finding out that Angel had slept with Darla became enraged and needed to know everything that transpired between Darla and Angel, yes I agree quite sick, needed to take his revenge out on Angel. Lindsay catches up with Angel and runs him over with his truck several times, and then gets out and begins to administer a sledgehammer beating on Angel. Now naturally any human being cracked in the coconut/head that many times would've been D.O.A., but fortunately Angel being a vampire can survive such a beating, but not a staking. Lindsay turns his back on the fallen Angel and goes to his truck to retrieve a wooden stake to finish Angel off. But upon turning around Angel is back on his feet to take his turn in the beat down, and let's say things didn't fare to well for Lindsay as Angel gave him the smack down of his life. Angel doesn't kill Lindsay but to add injury to insult takes his truck and smashes it up a bit, but was kind enough to return it the next day. Well from this point Darla disappears to origins unknown. Kate meets up with Angel as she has had an epiphany as well, and the two make amends finally restoring the peace between them. The back story with these demons that kidnap Cordelia really isn't that central to the episode other than a reason for a call to arms. But mainly this episode was really a way to tie up story arcs, and begin a new one. Overall the episode was good the only bad taste it left, well see above. As for Angel he has turned a corner the only thing is that he's just going a little overboard with the please accept me back I want to be part of the group again, and it's okay for everyone to talk down to me, treat me like dirt, and walk all over me whatever it takes. But as far as Cordelia and Wesley are concerned I guess he does deserve to have to kiss a little butt for awhile, it'll do him some good. The one thing that's very important and shouldn't be forgotten again by Angel is that he can't afford to lose his team because his mission is theirs as well, and they belong together. Take care.

  • Lorne: I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say if all you're gonna do is switch back to brood mode, we'd rather have you evil. Then at least, you'd be in leather pants

Angel wakes up after his night with Darla and has an epiphany that doesn't involve him losing his soul. His morning after response to her is classic and her as the desperate female looking for some validation is so perfect.

When he comes back to the Angel Investigation team and they are hesitant to accept him back he deserves it so much that I only wish they were worse to him. I also really love Darla and Lindsay in this episode because they are one of my favorite pairings and I always wanted them to get together. Then the final drama with Cordy almost dying and Wes and Angel coming to the rescue and they all coming together as a team. The way that Wes describes how Cordy changed to Angel is also really moving and sweet because it shows her progression past her teenage days where she was so shallow into the woman she is know with all the maturity and responsibility that she has.

Epiphany-After an empty night of passion with Darla, Angel wakes up with his soul still intact and has an epiphany. In a moment of clarity he realizes how deeply he had sunk into despair and how self-destructive his actions had become. He resolves to reunite with his crew, but Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn may not be ready to forgive him, even when their very lives are at stake.

After the shocking ending last episode, you can't help but wonder if Angel is back to his evil persona. But turns out it was only him over-acting to an epiphany, nice fak-out writers! I also love Darla's reaction to Angel still having a soul:

Darla: "I've been doing this for over 400 years, you can't tell that wasn't perfect, I prefected it...let's go again!"

But besides Darla's reaction and her going to Lindsey, she had little screentime this episode. Which sucks since this is her last appearance until next season. Speaking of Lindsey, his whole jealous boyfriend routine during this hour irritated the hell out of me. The only reason he hates Angel is because his been tappin' that a$$ for over a century and Darla never gave him none! Anyway, It's good to see the old Angel back since his war mood against Wolfarm and Hart storyline was getting a bit over kill at this point. He even saves Kate and after that, the b!%ch told him to get out! The writers at this point have made Kate into a ungrateful, whinny and pathetic character that it's no wonder Kate is pretty much written off the show after this episode. Even that last scene with Angel didn't make up for that, so good bye to her. I liked how Angel reacts to Gunn and Wesley becoming so close, just goes to show how much his missed. The demon plot was diturbing and I felt so bad for Cordelia with that third eye. Just...EHW! There are also hilarious how Welsey kept tipping over while standing, even the demon helped him, lol. Also, the ending is great with Angel wanting to work for his old friends, which is a nice development for his character. All and All, a great episode that puts the whole Darla threat behind us and goes back to basics for a while.
  • Pulls it all together and closer out the story line.

Loved it! This was a great mid-season conclusion to a lot of storylines. Angel and Darla relationship closes out, it brings a sense of closure to his relationship with Kate, and it puts him back on track with his purpose a a mission to recover his relationship with his Angel Investigations family...Cordy, Wes and Gun.

Loved Angel's exchange with Lorne. Nobody delivers it more directly than Lorne...except Cordy. Loved Angel saving Wes and Cordy and Kate. He has a lot to make up for and even though he's not given his full credit for what he does in the episode it is a start back for him.

This was a great conclusion to the angst that the prior episodes have led up to. You feel bot a sense of closure and hope that things are coming back into alignment.
  • Lorne: Between you and me, if it had taken you much longer to hit your bottom, I was gonna kick it.

Angel finally hits bottom and gets over this whole psychotic Darla whatever thing, after sleeping with her of course. After this little adventure, with his soul still in tact in case you were wondering, he experiences an epiphany and tries to return to the Cordy, Wes, and Gunn. However, they are a little reseptive then he would like. Even after helping saving Cordy from some pretty nasty demons he realizes that he can not simply walk back into their lives as if nothing had happened. They had all bonded, learned to get on without him, and were all really hurt by his actions. It's no so easy just to go back to the way things were. However, in another epiphany-like moment Angel really realizes that he isn't alone in this fight not only does he have his friends, as long as he doesn't completely alienate them again, but there is someone up there looking out for him. He saves Kate from killing herself and enters her apartment without ever being invited in.

This is part 2 of Reprise. Angel wakes up and stumbles out onto the balcony. Darla wakes and thinks she knows what is going on. Turns out she couldnt be more wrong. Angel still has his soul and better than that, he is back to being the Angel we all know and love. Darla is beside herself, she thought she could turn him back to Angelus. She thought she gave him the perfect moment, and as Angel says, she did. She gave him the perfect moment of despair. He tells her to get dressed and leave and not to come back unless she wants to be dust. This whole ep deals with Angel getting back the things/people that he needs in his life and getting rid of those he doesnt. Wonderful ep!

a very good episode that follows the past reprise

the episode is angel hving an epiphany after sleeping with dalra he finally realises everything he did and he did not turn evil because of sleeping with her because it was not perfect happiness just perfect dispair.

angel then saves kate who got fired and is out of a job. she is now gonna leave her own life and says goodbye. then angel goes back to his friends to save them because they are in trouble and when he saves them they want him back but cordelia does not. the episode was very good and darla also leaves and that is too bad.

This episode was a great way to conclude Angels turn to the dark side. I was a bit confused by the Kate lnot letting him in thing. i noticed that she never invited him in at all but it does make mroe snese to have her live. i lover her character. I will always remeber her! Angels decision was a good one and a great way to start rebuilding his freinds trust! I was wondering what the 'third eye' had to do with the big storyline but here it finally make sense. and the new chapter begins. where is Dal? Can Angel regain the gangs trust? What lies in store for the next? Well I guess I'll find out soon!
  • Part two of Reprise. it would actually be the season final ecause the next episodes have a very diffirent story. this episode is the end of many things. dark Angel and Kate and un-pregnant Darla and Lindsey's relationship with Darla. just an amazing episo

    ----------

    Best episode quotes:

    Angel: Oh god. Oh god.

Darla: Yes. Yes, I know. It was the same for me. The soul is gone but it leaves a bitterness. It'll pass. What you need is a fresh kill. Hot human blood will wash away the foul memory of it. I promise. What? - What is it?

    Angel: You saved me.

Darla: Yes. - But I was going to kill you tonight. Take you out of this world the same way I brought you into it. But I didn't have to. You gave yourself over so completely, Angelus. I felt you surrender.

Angel: I gave you everything I had left.

    Darla: Yes.

Angel: I am - so sorry.

Darla: You don't have to be.

Angel: But I am. I am sorry.

    Darla: What?

    Angel: I am sorry, Darla.

    Darla: No...

Angel: You saved me. Sorry I couldn't do the same for you.

Darla: Let go of me! You still have a soul. But we...

    Angel: Yeah.

    Darla: And you...

    Angel: I know.

    Darla: Then I...

    Angel: Three times.

Darla: You're not evil. I-I don't understand. - Was I... Was it... not good? Well, I don't accept that. You can not tell me that wasn't perfect. Not only have I been around for four hundred years, but I used to do this professionally. And that was perfect. We'll go again.

Angel: No. No. We can't. You know we can't. - We're finished.

Darla: Finished? Why? What, because you suddenly decide? You know an hour ago you wanted this. You weren't tricked into anything. I didn't seduce you. You wanted it!

Angel: Yeah. And it was perfect, Darla. - It was perfect despair. And you were the reason. You've always been the reason. You were the thing that made me what I am, and - I thought - if I could save you, I'd somehow - save myself, but - but I was wrong. And when I failed...

    Darla: Stop it!

Angel: When I failed, you saved me. And I have to thank you for that. There is nothing I can do for you now, Darla. I can't even hate you.

Darla: You knew this would happen, didn't you? You made me trust you! - You made me believe!

Angel: We're done. Let yourself out.

    Darla: Where are you going?

Angel: You did me a favor tonight. Now I'm gonna do one for you. Get dressed and get out. Because the next time I see you I will have to kill you.

Lindsey: Darla... I've been calling here all night. Why haven't you answered? Get away from the window. It's not safe. They called an emergency meeting tonight - after what happened. - The official order on you is to stake on sight. You should have told me what you had planned. I would have talked you out of it - helped you. I don't know. Things are getting complicated for us now.

Darla: Yes. Yes, I believe they are.

Lindsey: We should probably clear your stuff out of here. Move in my bedroom. I just think it'd be best for us… Darla, what's wrong? What is this? Where did you get this?

Darla: What's the difference? Doesn't work anyway.

Lindsey: No, of course it doesn't work, because after Angel stole it there was a disenchanting ceremony. It took half the meeting. How did you get this?

    Darla: It was my payment.

Lindsey: Your payment? What are you talking about?

Darla: What do you think I'm talking about, Lindsey?

Lindsey: I don't know! What happened?

Darla: Nothing. - Nothing happened. - My god, nothing at all.

Lindsey: Tell me. I have to know.

Darla: You want details, Lindsey? Is that what you want?

Lindsey: Yes. I want details. - I need to know everything. All of it. - What did he do to you?

Lorne: All right, all right. -- All right, already! I'm not deaf, you know? Jeez, keep your pants on! Well, I see we're a little late with that advice.

Lorne: And there is a chance, a good chance you won't be able to put this back together. It just... well, it depends, really.

Angel: Yeah, whether they'll even talk to me.

Lorne: No, actually it depends on whether they live through the night. And I got to tell you, at the moment, the odds? Not good.

Angel: Actually, it's kind of funny. I-I recently got a -- a gut wound myself. Not -- not a gunshot wound like you got there. But, uh, it's kind of a -- antique -- sword... is what it was. Went deep. -- Yes, it did. -- Hey, guess who stabbed me?

    Wesley: Darla?

Cordelia: I'm guessing 'hey! Look behind you!' is really not gonna work, is it?

Skilosh: Two more have been destroyed.

Cordelia: What? Oh, no! Wesley, Gunn, you - you killed them? - You horrible, ugly, three-eyed...

    Skilosh: Three must pay.

Cordelia: Oh! Two of you have been destroyed. Okay... Oh. That's bad... I'm sorry?

    Skilosh: More must rise.

Cordelia: Oh. Oh, no. Hey! Hey, hey. Wait a second. Guys!

    Skilosh: More must rise!

Cordelia: No, no. No more must rise. Honest. Listen, I've been impregnated by demon spawn before. Let's just say, didn't really work out.

    Angel: It's Friday night, Wesley.

    Wesley: So?

Angel: So, we are talking about the same Cordelia Chase, right?

    Wesley: That's correct.

    Angel: Knowing her...

Wesley: But you don't. You don't know her at all. For months now you haven't cared to. Otherwise you might have realized that our Cordelia has become a very solitary girl. She's not the vain, carefree creature she once was... Well, certainly not carefree. -- It's the visions, you see. The visions that were meant to guide you. You could turn away from them. She doesn't have that luxury. She knows and experiences the pain in this city, and because of who she is, she feels compelled to do something about it. -- It's left her little time for anything else. -- You'd have known that -- if you hadn't had you head firmly up your... place that isn't on top of your neck.

Wesley: Gunn! - What are you doing here?

Gunn: I was passing by. Saw the lights was on. Besides, I work here.

    Wesley: But - I thought you'd gone.

Gunn: Gone? Well, yeah, gone, but that don't mean I wasn't coming back! What, you didn't think I was gonna abandon you like this guy, did you?

    Wesley: No. Certainly not.

Gunn: Come on, English! You know you my man!

Angel: So, ah, I see you guys have bonded.

Gunn: Happens when you fight shoulder to shoulder.

Wesley: Or rather hip to shoulder these days.

Gunn: This man took a bullet for me!

    Wesley: Ah, it was nothing!

Gunn: So, what's he doing here?

Angel: Went and saw the host of Caritas. He said my friends were in danger.

Gunn: So, what's he doing here?

    Wesley: He had an epiphany.

Gunn: Aaah. Well, I saw you turn off the lights and hiding. What's up with that?

Wesley: There was a demon attack, at my home.

    Angel: I saved him.

Wesley: We thought perhaps we'd been followed.

    Gunn: Demon attack?

    Wesley: Skilosh, I'm afraid.

Gunn: As in the back-of-the-head type demon? I thought we got rid of that.

Wesley: We did. Which is why I believe we are being targeted for retribution by the tribe.

    Gunn: Where's Cordy?

Wesley: We don't know. Not here.

    Gunn: You checked her pad?

Angel: I stopped by there earlier.

Gunn: You enjoying your visit to nineteen seventy three? I meant her message pad.

Angel: Oh, right. That's a good idea. Oh, here, use this. You can make a rubbing of the impressions she left. See what the last thing was that she wrote.

Gunn: Or we could just read the carbon.

Angel: Or you can do that.

    Gunn: Directions.

Wesley: Let me see.Yes, I know that address. It's the Sharps. The family, whose daughter we treated.

Gunn: Looks like she wrote that down tonight. You think she went there?

Wesley: Why else would she take the original?

Gunn: What do you think they'd do?

Wesley: While I hate to imagine, we better be prepared. The de-oculation powder is in my desk. Get it.

    Gunn: Alright.

Angel: Guys - guys, d-does it make sense that sh-she would go there in the middle of the night without calling either one of you?

    Gunn: They owe us money.

    Angel: Lets go.

Gunn: So, you had an epiphany, did you?

    Angel: Yeah.

Gunn: So, what you just wake up and bang?

Angel: Well, it was sort of the other way around.

Gunn: Well, that's good, you know. That's real good that you can have one of those. Ain't that good, Wes? 'cause you know, epiphanies, they handy. - When do you think you might be having another one?

    Wesley: Gunn...

Gunn: No. No. I'm interested. You know, 'cause they could strike at any time. Could be the next time you see one of them lawyers, you get all epiphanied off right back at 'em.

    Angel: No.

Gunn: No? You don't think so? - Well I hope you don't go having another one before we get to Cordelia, because if something happens to her... I mean, something bad, I just might have me and epiphany.

Lindsey: You're gonna tell me everything. Everything you do with her. All of it. You're gonna tell me.

    Angel: Why?

Lindsey: Because I wanna hear it from you. Tell me! Tell me! - Tell me!

Angel: No. I'm sorry Lindsey. I really am. I'm sorry she'll never love you. I'm sorry you're gonna have to live with that. I'm sorry I didn't try harder to help you when you came to me. I'm sorry you made the wrong choice. [Brakes his glass hand] Could have been the other one. Just be glad I had an epiphany.

    Cordelia: Angel... Hi.

    Angel: Hi. -- You okay?

    Cordelia: No.

    Angel: You're not?

Cordelia: No. -- You really hurt my feelings.

Kate: I feel like such an idiot.

Angel: A lot of that going around.

Kate: I just couldn't... -- My whole life has been about being a cop. If I'm not part of the force it's like nothing I do means anything.

    Angel: It doesn't.

    Kate: Doesn't what?

Angel: Mean anything. In the greater scheme or the big picture, nothing we do matters. There's no grand plan, no big win.

Kate: You seem kind of chipper about that.

Angel: Well, I guess I kinda -- worked it out. If there is no great glorious end to all this, if -- nothing we do matters, -- then all that matters is what we do. 'cause that's all there is. What we do, now, today. -- I fought for so long. For redemption, for a reward -- finally just to beat the other guy, but... I never got it.

    Kate: And now you do?

Angel: Not all of it. All I wanna do is help. I wanna help because -- I don't think people should suffer, as they do. Because, if there is no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness -- is the greatest thing in the world.

Kate: Yikes. It sounds like you had an epiphany.

Angel: I keep saying that. But nobody's listening.

Kate: Well, I'm pretty much convinced, since I'm alive to be convinced.

Angel: You know you don't have to be a cop to be...

Kate: I'm okay. - Anyway, I'm not headed towards another pillathon. - I'm very grateful. - I never thought you'd come for me, but... I got cut a huge break and I believe... - I don't know what I believe, but I - have - faith. - I think maybe we're not alone in this.

    Angel: Why?

Kate: Because I never invited you in.

Wesley: Before you say any more I think I should tell you, we've all discussed this, and none of us are ready just yet...

Angel: It's okay, Wesley. I don't want you to come back and work for me.

    Wesley: Oh. I see.

Angel: I wanna work for you.
