    • Between the scene with Angel and Darla and the scene in which Angel goes to save Kate, one of the quick flashes is an image of a crew member holding a slate marker. It goes by too quickly to see, but it is visible if the moment is run frame-by-frame.
    • Wesley used a wheelchair or cane for the entire episode so why is he able to help Cordelia up and walk out of the house without any help from Gunn or Cordy or even a limp?
    • In the previous episode, when Cordy turned off the single light on the desk, all the lights in the room went out. In this episode, Angel turns that one off first, then has to go and turn off all the others individually. But then, when he turns one of them back on, they all come on.
    • Angel's bruises (esp. the ones around his eye) from the ordeal with Lindsey change from when he was talking to Kate to when he went to see his old friends.
    • When Angel and Wesley were in the car, Wesley told Angel that he should take a right shortly. Angel never turned the car at all.
    • Watch the position of the sledgehammer after Lindsey drops it. It's even with the front wheel, about four feet away. It stays that way throughout the fight, then moves closer to the truck and behind the front door, just in time for Angel to flip it up with his foot.
    • The license plate on Lindsey's truck is not correct: Oklahoma license plates have a dash between the first three letters and the last three numbers.
    • Gunn says Cordelia has three eyes, even though he can only see her from the front through the window.
    • You can see the many circular skid marks on the street from Lindsay's truck, presumably from previous takes since Lindsey only executes the manuever once on-camera.
    • Once again, the convertible is missing the rear-view mirror in several shots. And yes, we've seen it occasionally so the car does have one.

    • Wesley: You don't know her at all. For months now you haven't cared to. Otherwise you might have realized that our Cordelia has become a very solitary girl. She is not the vain and carefree creature she once was. Well... certainly not carefree.
    • Wesley: In any event. I diagnosed the girl's condition as infection by a Skilosh.
      Angel: With your books?
      Wesley: Yes...
Angel: You were always so good with those books. Made it look easy. It's not.
    • Angel: Invite me in! I've never been here before Wesley, you have to invite me in! Wesley: Well, perhaps if you had shown a bit of interest... Angel: Wesley! (Skilosh demons break through the window) Wesley: Yes! Well, absolutely, I invite you in! Man, I invite you!
    • Angel: (About his epiphany) I'm still not sure what happened... Lorne/The Host: What's not to understand? You think you're the first guy who ever rolled over, saw what was lying next to him, and went GYAAAAH!?
    • Lorne/The Host: I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say if all you're gonna do is switch back to brood mode, we'd rather have you evil. Then at least, you'd be in leather pants.
    • Angel: Well, I guess I kind of worked it out. If there's no great glorious end to all this, if nothing we do matters... then all that matters is what we do. Because that's all there is. What we do. Now. Today. I fought for so long, for redemption, for a reward, and finally just to beat the other guy, but I never got it. Kate: And now you do? Angel: Not all of it. All I want to do is help. I want to help because I don't think people should suffer as they do. Because, if there's no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing in the world. Kate: Yikes. It sounds like you've had an epiphany. Angel: I keep saying that, but nobody's listening. Kate: Well, I'm pretty much convinced. Since I'm alive to be convinced. Angel: You know you don't have to be a cop to be... Kate: I'm okay. Anyway, I'm not headed towards another pillathon. I'm very grateful. I never thought you'd come for me, but... I got cut a huge break and I believe... I don't know what I believe, but I have faith. I think maybe we're not alone in this. Angel: Why? Kate: Because I never invited you in.
    • Angel: Guys, guys. Does it make sense that (Cordelia) would go there in the middle of the night, without calling either one of you? Wesley & Gunn: They owe us money. Angel: Let's go.
    • Gunn: Where's Cordy? Wesley: We don't know. Not here. Gunn: You check her pad? Angel: I stopped by there earlier. Gunn: You enjoying your visit to 1973? I meant her message pad.
    • Gunn: So what's he doing here? Angel: I went and saw the Host at Caritas - he said my friends were in danger. Gunn: So what's he doing here?
    • Cordelia: (to demon) Listen, I've been impregnated by demon spawn before. Let's just say, didn't really work out.
    • Darla: I don't understand. Was I...was it...not good? Well, I don't accept that. You cannot tell me that wasn't perfect. Not only have I been around for 400 years, but I used to do this professionally, and that was perfect. (beat) We'll go again.
    • Angel: (after smashing Lindsey's prosthetic hand) Could've been the other one - just be glad I had an epiphany.
    • Gunn: So you had an epiphany, did you? Angel: Yeah. Gunn: So what? You just wake up and bang? Angel: Sort of the other way around.
    • Kate: I feel like such an idiot. Angel: A lot of that that going around.
    • The Host/Lorne: (answering the door) Keep your pants on. Well, see we're a little late with that advice.
    • Kate: (after Angel saves her) Thanks. Now get out.
    • Angel: (talking about Darla) Probably should have killed her. Lorne/The Host: Eh, kill her, give her cab fare, whatever. The point is, you've turned a corner. Well, yay you. Zuzu's petals, it's about time. Between you and me, if it had taken you much longer to hit your bottom, I was gonna kick it.
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • This very episode is mentioned by Director Joss Whedon in the commentary track to the last episode of Firefly "Objects in Space". Joss Whedon goes into length on how he got an epiphany when he was 16 that he had no faith. Later he explains that when Angel doubt there is a grand plan and says "if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do" that is his way of expressing "the moral implication of a universe with no meaning".
    • This episode received a rating of 5.2/8 in the overnight Nielsen ratings, ranking 3rd out of 17 WB shows for that week.
    • In the scene when Angel and Wesley are driving down the road, you can see that the windshield has been removed. Presumably so that there would be no reflections of the crew that were filming those scene(s). In addition, the rear view mirror is missing, most likely to prevent it from blocking Wesley's face.
    • Charisma Carpenter does the "Previously on Angel" voiceover.
    • The opening scene, reprised from the previous episode, is an almost shot-for-shot restaging of the moment that Angel lost his soul after making love to Buffy in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes "Surprise" (2x13) and "Innocence" (2x14).
    • This is the last episode for Elisabeth Rohm who played Kate Lockley.
