The WB (ended 2004)
I still haven't gotten to see the "Dollhouse" promo on television. I very seldom watch live tv. I have seen it online though and it totally rocks.
"Riley" saw it on tv though and he thought it looked interesting.
Oh, and I finally got him watching Angel!! Only took nearly two years.
He builds decks and right now with the crummy economy and the crappy weather he's not working. Since he just has antenna tv I brought season one of Angel to him and told him to watch it when he couldn't find anything on tv to watch. Now he's watching Season Two. I'm so excited to finally be able to share this with him.
It just sucks that we're not watching it together. I bought The XFiles box set right before Christmas (really great Gold Box deal on Amazon) so we're watching those together. We just finished season 4. Before this I'd only seen random eps of The XFiles so it's been pretty fun to watch them all in order. Things make much more sense that way.
Speaking of making sense, I really hope this is making sense. I didn't sleep at all last night. I tried, but sleep kept running away. I had to work 8 hours on no sleep. I'd take a nap but I need to be able to sleep tonight so I'm trying to stay awake until close to bed time.
Yes, Cordy. It made sense.
|Oh, I'm hoping to stick around for a couple few more. Say, anyone ever have a chance to be a Citi Platinum card holder ... well, tell you what. I wouldn't. They arbitrarily raise fees to the nation's maximum (one thousandth of a percentage hike more would legally qualify as usury), send you a handful of small print that doesn't explain it especially well and then one day you get hit with a whopping increase in your finance charges and they're in the clear because they "notified" you. I'd apply for credit with very nearly anyone else -- including the Bank of Bob -- before I applied with them again. Just sharing that experience as a public service. * sip * .|
I just got the notice in the mail. I'm reminded of a Judy Tenuda line when a Southern cop pulled her over because her car was blue.
That sounds real legal, Goober!
I have a confession. I watched the BSG miniseries and the first two episodes and...
I didn't love it.
*hi5* I only made it threw the miniseries and seriously wanted to write Sci-Fi asking how I could gets those 4 hours of my life back.
I'm so sleepy. I had to get up at 3 a.m. thanks to a stupid ice storm. Since I live in town I said I'd come in early and cover for some of the ones that live out ot town. Big mistake.
First I almost didn't even get off my street. They didn't plow yet ~ and they still haven't ~ so the street was a real pain to drive down. I kept having to back up and go forward until I finally made it to the snow route street. That one was clear enough for my car to drive on but it was still ice covered and slick.
Then I get to the parking lot at work, which of course hadn't been plowed yet. I had a hard time getting around the building. I actually had to have the other people I work with push me into a parking spot because my car wasn't going anywhere.
Then partway through my shift the store manager asks if I want my break. See, even coming in early I only had a 5 and a half hour shift which barely qualifies for a break. I told her that I was starving and of course I wanted my break.
She said, "Oh, it's just most of the others don't take their breaks when the work this shift."
#1 that's crap. There's only one girl that doesn't take her break on a short shift like that. #2 Who frakin' cares what they do! I'm starving!
Then she lets me know that it's not time to start breaks yet, she was just asking if I wanted a break so she'd know.
Then guess what. She didn't give me a frakin' break!
Granted we were short handed and surprisingly busy for an icy day but that's no excuse.
Instead it keeps getting later and later. Before I know it it's 9:00 a.m., an hour before I leave. I ask her if she wants to just skip my break and send whoever is taking my spot on break. Then she can just send me home 30 minutes early and I wouldn't need a break.
She informs me that Angela is taking my spot. Angela was working on the shake breakdown ~ our machine has to be disassembled and reassembed every 14 days ~ which is a long job. She usually has 'till 11 to finish it.
So great. Not only do I not get a break, but I'm not getting off early to compensate either.
She tells me that I can have my meal for free to take home when I get off.
Hell, I came in early so I should have gotten a free meal for that anyway.
Needless to say I was a bit pissed. She obviously never really intended to give me my break. I told Michelle that Tammy was the break Nazi. NO BREAK FOR YOU!!
Then, I finally go home and it's still a pain to get up the street to my house. The snow plows made a huge @ss pile of snow at the entrance to my street and it took me probably 5 minutes to get over that. It was way too deep for my car to clear and my car kept sliding around. Luckily nobody was coming so I was able to keep backing up and trying again.
Then the street itself was hard to drive on. The combo of a few inches of snow and ice mixed is not fun to drive on an unplowed road. I've actually never had this much trouble in my car. Usually it does great on snow.
I hate to tell them but if they still haven't plowed in the morning they're going to have to send someone to get me if they want me at work. I don't feel like fighting to get out again. One of these times I could end up hitting one of the neighbors cars.
Wow, this ended up really long and ranty.
