It's horrible, i mean.. i dont even have words for it..

"i kinda wanna kill the dragon" the last words we hear?

The last words are "Let's get to work."

Perfect way to end the series.

Isn't this like the fifteenth thread in a few weeks about the ending?

In all fairness, I hated the ending too for a while. Even now I have extremely mixed emotions about it.

Yes, it perfectly illustrates the theme of the series which is that the fight is more important than the outcome. You keep fighting the good fight even when it seems that there is no chance to succeed.

However, I still can't quite get over the fact that there would certainly be a resolution to that battle if the howler monkeys at the WB hadn't pulled the plug.

It feels like I left the series on pause on some cosmic DVD player and then someone stole the remote and I can never get back to the people I loved so much. I can never see them defeat the demon hordes. I can never see Angel slay his dragon.

It was the best possible ending they could have had given the circumstances of the part of the story they were telling and the time they had to wrap things up.

But it wasn't, really, a perfect ending.

After so many years of fighting the fight and helping the helpless, dammit Angel deserves to ride off into the moonset.

And, what's more, we deserve to see it.

I, for one, agree with you kitten!

What kind off ending is that anyway? "Let's get to work" and then fade to black? I don't have to be a genius that Joss probably ran out of ideas at that point.

What he should've done was make the ending more satisfying, tying up plots and making the theme about empowerment. Vampire empowerment.

He should have had them fighting the demon army, but Angel having a card up his sleeve. You see, Wesley wasn't really dead, but just pretending to be so that no one would disturb him while he casts the empowerment spell that turns every one into a vampire.

No everyone that can be a vampire, will be a vampire. Angel's finally learned to share his power (and broodyness).

Now that's what I call an ending. Not that stupid fade to black crap.

But the spell went awry when Eve tried to interfere at the very last.

    Instead of being vamps?

They all turned into broody Brits with five o' clock shadow.

(This was especially traumatic for the women.)

I gotta say that I was shocked and upset the first time I saw it...but, that doesn't mean it's bad. NOT A ALL. I love all episodes, this isn't in my top 10 but still, very emotional. great battle. great cliff hanger that makes me crazy and wanting to know more. *sigh* I hope there will be one day something to continue the story from.

but bad episode? I mean. come on! i'm not sure if I should say spoiler but the death of one loved Character and every scene with Illyria in it. and 'I want you guys to go out. Live. Do whatever you want. Live the day like it's your last... 'cause it probably is.' man that's so sad
this is the best series final I have ever seen.

In all honesty, the only thing I disliked about the ending was the fact that it was the ending. I loved the episode all the way through. I loved all of their final days. The whole thing was so damn' cool.

And I was emotionally invested all the way up to "F*** you from your friends at the WB" -- the tag line the network stuck on after a little montage of "Angel" scenes that aired after the screen went black.

Joss didn't have anything to do with that part of it. That was all them. It was disingenuous, offensive and evil, and to this day, I have not re-established a channel stop for The WB in my home.

    Stupid Frog.

I agree with u, i loved the episode so much it was the best ending to any show i've seen in a long time. Aculuty i didn't cry intill i saw as u put it f*** you from the from your friends at the WB that when i new angel was gone for good. After that i started crying non stop i miss my angel. As for watching the frog i have to amit that i still watch some shows on the WB. But i just saying that the only 2 I do watch are charmed and supernatural and i'm warning the WB if they take off charmed i'm not watching t.v altogether anymore. I mean i love supernatural but i'm not going to let myself get stuck on a show i know they are just going to cut it lose something in the near future u know what i mean?

Umm.. your ending sounds a lot like Buffy. I don't really see Buffy's ending working in the same way as it did in Angel. I am dissapointed in the series being cut short and Joss not being able to finish it exactly the way he wanted too, yet the ending is still amazing. The idea of fighting the good fight even if there is something bigger, stronger, and more powerful then anything, pulling the strings behind the curtten was the whole purpose for the gang. Angel's reason for fighting really revolved around the shan shu profecies. In season 2 in Epiphany he finally realized that it didn't even matter if there was some grand master plan or higher power. He found that doing good in itself, not for a reward is reason enough to fight. He really wasn't tested with that though until the ending when he was given the choice to throw away his reward, to sacrafice himslef for the greater cause. This is what I really liked about the ending.
