Cordelia's death was really sad but in my oponion Fred's death was the saddest. The way she died in Wesley's arms

I'd say Fred it was just so unexpected. Unsually i didn't know it was gonna happen head of time i somehow always manage to read the wrong thing and see a spoiler when someones gonna be killed off. So i kept thinking Angel's gonna find someway to save her and then actually watching her die in Wesley's arms it really was sad heartbreaking almost but i'm a guy so we don't cry at stuff that hapens on tv or at least not when we're in company. I think Wesley's death is a tie though or at least a close second cos even in the final episode he wasn't the one i thought they'd kill and then seeing the reverse of him dying in Fred's arms was equally as sad.

I voted for Cordelia but i also found Doyle's death so sad and unexpected.... all the death's in the show had me reaching for the tissues...even thinking bout Wesley's death....it's hard to choose but i'd say Cordy and Doyle's deaths were the ones that really got to me

I think they were all really sad, although I voted for Fred... It was so sad and everything happened so fast!

Speak for yourself. My wife and I (actually, she was my girlfriend at the time) both cried like hungry, angry babies when Fred died. And Wes, for that matter.

    I'm dead outside.

    Does that make a difference?

Clarification: I should point out that I'm not criticizing anyone just because they don't cry at TV shows. I just hate to see people who honestly believe that they shouldn't express emotion because they are male. I think that the Western idea of "manly" behavior tends to create emotional cripples who talk with their fists and cry bullets, and I think it's important that we men think (and feel) for ourselves.

Honestly not being moved to cry is one thing. But deciding not to because of some arbitrary cultural ideal is something else entirely.

    Just sayin...

IMO, Wesley was the saddest, but I also think Darla's death is one of the saddest, and one of the greatest scenes of Angel.

I thought that Cordellia's death was sad and so was Fred's. I really thought that Fred's death was really sad because i thought throughout the whole episode, ok ok they are going to save her and I felt so bad for her and Wesley because they finally just got into a relationship and then she dies. With Cordella's though I was more shocked because I was not expecting that she was actually dead. I still think all of the deaths on Angel were sad though, and very unexpected.

Dudes, without a doubt the saddest death was Wesley. Because it was so unexpected! Why dammit! And the fact that wesley has previously told Illyria to never impersonate Fred, but does as his last dying wish is heart wrenching. And that beautiful scene when Wesley is in Illyria/Fred's arms, where we see such a powerful love!

Wesley was the best character on the whole show!

Doyle's was just BA.... What is upsetting me is that this poll doesn't even have Lyla on there. She had been getting progressively more popular and on the verge of redemption when Cordelia murdered her. Then to top that... crazy Wesley had to chop her head off thinking she would turn into a vampire.

But Lilah's death wasn't sad at all. It was designed to shock people. The other's like Wesley's. Fred's, Darla's, Cordy's and Doyle's were all loved characters and their deaths were designed to be sad with all the special speeches and tears. So Lilah's doesn't really rank as one of the saddest deaths. Sorry but thats my opinion.

Thats hard cuz i cried through all of those deaths but im gonna go with Cordelia because thats the one i cried the hardest but they are all really sad and all memorable but Cordy was 1 of my fav characters and Wesleys death was really sad and Doyles was sad cuz he had the courage to die for something for a better cause and Fred put up a good fight to stay alive and really wanted to live so thats really hard to choose but Cordys was a tiny bit more sad to me

Doyle! His was the most unexpected of all! I mean who would have thought they would kill off one of the main characters in the first season! Cordelia's was sad, but it was kinda expected...

    Wesley's!!

What was really sad about Cordelia's death is that I wasn't even that sad about it. Just like "Ah well". I loved Cordy all the way through Buffy and the early seasons of Angel but the way she was ripped out the show and then plonked back in dead really removed a huge part of the emotional impact.

For Wesley though, I cry every time. The manner and the timing of the death, the goodbye. Crushing.

    Such a sap I am.
