For me it was like reading spoilers in a topic heading, given that new people are buying the dvds every day.

    Now, now, manners.

In all honesty, I was very shocked, but I wasn't sad. I found out about it by reading the spoiler, maybe if I'd found out by seeing the episode it would have been more sad, I don't know. I felt worse about Cordelia's death. I liked Fred, I just wasn't that big of a fan I guess.

Hard to say... since I just found out right nowwhen visiting the main page to look up the episode guides.

It's generally accepted not to post spoilers in the thread topic. I know the show's been over for a while but with dvd's many people are watching all sorts of shows for the first time.

When people enter a thread they know what they're getting into and spoilers are everywhere. But putting it in the thread title gives it away to anyone who looks at the main page.

Next time (or even when editing this one) try phrasing like "Feelings about Fred's Fate..."

Or he could have called it the "Fred Thread".

Hehe...Fred Thread. It rhymes. Hehe, that's so cool.

I'd just gotten to like Fred and didn't think it was fair that she died right before the final battle, I never really liked Illeyra (?) much anyways...

I found out about it a few days before I watched it and to be honest I thought they would find a way to bring her back. I can't say I don't like the story of Illiria but if they had done it during anything other that the final series the dramatic nature of it wouldn't have lasted. I just feel that having Illiria walking around lessened the impact of Fred's death. It just seems that they spent so much time and effort developing the character only to then transform her into a demi-god. am i making sence?

it made me angry more than sad because for once fred and wes finally got together for about 1 day and she dies, it just wasnt fair. everyone else got to have more of a relationship with the one they love

buffy and angel/ buffy and riley

willow and oz/ willow and tara

xander and cordy/ xander and anya

    giles and jenny

now fred and wes were like the perfect couple id ever seen, wes's love for fred was more powerful i could see than any other relationship i had seen.

now i know this topic is more about freds death but i felt more upset for wesley for seeing him see the woman he loved die in his hands. thats more upsetting than anything.

Not everyone Angel and Cordy never had the chance and Cordy never got to be with Doyle.

I liked the idea of Illyria, and I enjoyed that character, but at the same time I missed Fred quite a bit. (Spoilers ahead, possibly?) I read, or maybe watched in a DVD extra for S5, that if the show didn't get canceled, that Joss was going to find a way to bring Fred back. Anyway, seeing as Fred is my favorite character of the show - Angel not included - I was bummed not to see her around all the time.
