Having just gotten into Buffy and Angel and every or nearly every episode in very quick succession, the fact that this episode, from a season where the show was trying to establish itself as separate from its parent, remains my favorite episode of both shows is a testimate to its writing and acting. The standout being Sara Michelle Gellar, who I can say plays hurt the best of almost any actress I'v ever seen. Whenever I see this episode I'm sad for the rest of the day because of her performance. The fact that one episode of a fantasy/horror/whatever show can have that much emotional impact on a man is testiment to its quality.
