Episode Recap
Sacrifice and evil ritual activity has gotten worse in Los Angeles and Angel's worried that something big is going to take place. After breaking up a goat sacrifice, Angel heads to Kate's office in search of a little help. She refuses to assist, as she's on desk duty pending Friday's hearing. Apparently, she is in trouble for allowing Angel to beat up the police chief who was raising zombies. Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn were proudly showing Mrs. Sharp that her daughter's third eye had been removed, with a little less hair as a temporary side effect. But Mrs. Sharp refuses to pay, claiming her husband thinks they are running a scam. Wesley comments that it is hard for people to believe that evil demons exist. Meanwhile, the Wolfram & Hart lawyers are running scared. Their senior partner, an evil, merciless demon from hell, is arriving on Friday for their 75-year review. Lindsey is distracted and not all that concerned. Lilah, however, is stressing over it. Lindsey goes home where he is housing Darla. He gives her fresh blood and heads to the shower and she takes the opportunity to look through his files. The Host tells Angel what has the lawyer at Wolfram and Hart so scared, but can't tell him how to stop the senior partner, except to say there was some talk of the Band of Blacknil and the Home Office. Angel storms into the Wesley and Cordelia's office because they have all the books on magic. Cordelia tries to get in his way and he treats them pretty badly. Wesley jumps up and tells her to let him have the book, only to pop a whole bunch of stitches. At Kate's hearing the reviewers are pointing all of her strange behavior and the fact that she didn't take time off after her father's death. It comes down to her termination and she leaves stunned. Angel returns to the bookstore where the owner, Denver, helped him in the episode "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been." Denver explains that the Band of Blacknil, a ring, is the way the demon transports himself to this dimension. To get the Band and kill the demon Angel would have to use a sacred glove that Denver just happens to have in his possession. They prepare to part ways when Darla steps in to kill Denver and stabs Angel in the process. She takes the glove and heads out. Angel sneaks his way in to Wolfram & Hart using Lilah and he's in time to fight with Darla. He grabs the glove as the demon appears and uses it to destroy him, sending Angel flying out a 15th-floor window. He hits the ground and looks over to the see the Band of Blacknil. Putting it on his finger he orders the Home Office. Behind him, an elevator door opens to reveal Holland clapping. He's there to take Angel on his one-way trip to Hell. After a long ride, they end up right back where they started. Holland points out that evil is in everyone and hell is everywhere. Angel returns to hear Kate leaving an accusing message on his answering machine while trying to overdose on pills and alcohol. Cordelia also received a call from Mrs. Sharp, who claims that she needs her to come over. When Mrs. Sharp hangs up, she reports to a strange demon in room with her that "one of them is on the way." Angel returns to his room to find Darla waiting for him. She wants to fight but he wants to sleep with her. They end up in bed and he awakens, gasping for breath . . .
