Angel

Wesley becomes an official staff member of Angel Investigations. Cordy's most recent vision leads Angel and Wesley to a corpse at an ice factory downtown. Angel searches the factory and meets up with Tae, a demon from another dimension. He's hunting the woman who incinerated the corpse at the factory. Angel stumbles upon the dead man's wallet and finds his business card, indicating he worked in private security. While Wes and Cordy research, Angel goes to check out the man's office. He discovers a locked drawer containing cash and an invoice for large amounts of ice... and comes face to face with Jheira, a demon princess from the other dimension. They battle and she thrusts him through a door before fleeing the scene. Angel hops into his car and gives chase, phoning the office from his cell phone. Cordy lets him know that there is a pattern of men who have been burned from the inside out in the past 11 months.

Wesley finds out who the other-dimension demons are and he and Cordy go to look for their food source. Angel tracks Jheira to the back room at an art museum. As they argue, a portal opens and a young woman falls through. Tae and his soldiers arrive. Angel and Jheira try to fight them off but the flunkies grab the young woman and take her back to their headquarters, where they prepare to perform some sort of procedure on the ridge on her back.

Jheira goes with Angel to his apartment. She explains that the girl is a runaway from their homeland. Where they come from, women are mutilated when they come of age in order to diminish their physical and sexual power and control them more easily. The ridge on their backs is the key to that power source. It can even indicate sexual arousal. She was the first woman to ever escape a life of servitude. The women who escape have some difficulty adjusting to the new dimension. They are in a prolonged feverish state and need to be iced down. That inner fire is what caused the deaths that Cordy found reference to. They argue over protecting the women of Jheira's dimension vs. the men of Angel's and the sparks fly between Angel and Jheira (literally).

Wes and Cordy find their way to the demons headquarters and overhear their plans. The demons have discovered the location where Jheira is hiding the girls. Wes and Cordy go back to the office to get Angel. Cordy mentions that one of the demons referred to a large ice shipment. This triggers Angel's memory of the invoice he found and the three of them head to the location on the invoice. Wesley and Cordy move the runaways out into the back of a truck. Angel and Jheira fight the demons until Cordy and Wes manage to get taken hostage. Jheira doesn't care and escapes, only to get captured by Tae. The others manage to overtake the demons and Angel rescues Jheira. Angel instructs her to take her refugees and leave. He warns Tae not to return to this dimension again. Jheira comes to the office to let Angel know that the women are safe. He warns her that he won't allow her to hurt people in his dimension to save the women from hers. The sparks fly once more and Jheira leaves, the ridge on her back glowing hotly.
