    THAT VISION THING

    The Good;
A real one for Lilah fans, our first sight of Skip and some great acting by CC

    The Bad;
The brain thing looks fake. It also seems all very unnecessarily complicated to rescue Billy

    Best line:
CC (about Gavin) "Ok, Satan's toady but that's a NICE suit!"

Jeez, how did they get away with that?
You so feel for Cordy as she suffers. Not so much the rebar through the head but Darla slicing her hand makes me wince every time.

    Apocalypses: 5

    Angel Cliches

    Inverting the Hollywood cliche;
Darla's "Men are such babies" remark, about some things yes.

    In disguise; 8

DB get's his shirt off; 12

    Cordy's tattoo; oh yes
    8

    Cheap Angel; 7

    Fang Gang in bondage:

    Doyle; 1 vamp
    Wes; 7 demons+1 vamp
    Kate; 3 vamps
    Faith; 16 vamps, 6 demons, 3 humans.
    Gunn; 8 vamps+ 5 demons.

    Recurring characters killed;
    6;

Total number of Angel Investigations: Fred doing research and taking care of Cordy, now part of the gang
5, Angel, Cordy, Wes, Gunn, Fred

    Angel Investigations shot:
    Angel: 11
    Wes; 1

    Packing heat;
    Wes; 3
    Doyle; 1
    Angel; 1

Notches on Fang Gang bedpost: I'm going to add Phantom Dennis who Cordy will later tell us is 'good with a loufa'.
    Cordy: 3 ?+Wilson/Hacksaw Beast+Phantom Dennis(?)
    Angel: 2; Buffy and Darla
Wes; 2; Virginia and the bleached blonde

    Kinky dinky:
'Dick' and 'dong' in the car on the way to get the key. Lilah paws Angel when he's in her office and when he's violent with her it actually seems to turn her on all the more, she keeps pawing. Fred is 'forking with Gunn'.

    Captain Subtext;
Lorne loves The Sound of Music. But who doesn't?

Know the face, different character; 3
Bob Morrisey who plays the demon Dr is also the mad guy who accosts Dawn outside the Magic Shop in The Real Me.

    Parking garages;
    5,

    Guantanamo Bay;
Angel threatens Lilah and Gavin. Wes and Gunn are quite prepared to kill Billy if WR&H try anything smart. Despite her tough girl image Lilah seems to be genuinely afraid at the end of the ep.

    Buffy characters on Angel; 16
Wetherby, Collins and Smith. Angel, Cordy, Oz, Spike, Buffy, Wes, Faith, Darla, Dru, Master, Anne, Willow and Harmony

    Questions and observations;
CC impressed by Gavin's clothes, what a shame she missed most of season 5 when AI can put their wardrobe on WR&H expense account. I wonder if the makers of The Matrix say this ep? They certainly steal the key gag for the second film. Fred meets Phantom Dennis although she also feels the need to introduce herself in a later ep.
Marks out of 10; 6/10, pretty good, not totally brilliant
  • That Vision Thing

    9.5
    "Superb"
That Vision Thing was a really great episode of Angel. I really enjoyed watching this entertaining episode which included sinister plans by Lilah. I thought it was very interesting how Wolfram & Hart chose to go through Cordelia exploiting her power of vision. I think this episode had a lot character building for Cordelia. i really enjoye watching this episode's story unfold. There were some great action scenes, scenes of dramatic suspense, and some classic humor. I can not wait to find out what happens next! This episode sets an interesting tone for season three of Angel and I look forward to watching how things unfold for the characters!!!!!!!
  • Cordelia's visions get gross.

    9.1
    "Superb"
That Vision Thing is an excellent episode and one of the best fillers in the entire show. It had the return of a much loved character and shows the painful journey of another.

Cordelia really gets put through the wringer in this episode, with having so many types of physical torture inflicted on her. From being viciously slashed to contracting some bizarre boils to being burnt, you truly feel for her here and her insistence to keep her visions shows how far she has truly come from S1. Her breakdown is sad and hard to watch and I think it's terrible that she feels she needs the visions to be needed by Angel and I liked it when he reassured her he needed her for her and the visions were just a bonus. Their relationship is an amazing one and one of my favourites.

Lilah's return was excellent and we get to see how vicious and evil she can truly be- her torture of Cordy through the episode made us feel intense dislike her for her but she's such a great character we can't help but like her at times. I was glad of how Angel grabbed her by the throat- she needs to learn who's boss and it ain't her. Her malice in this episode is shocking; last season she seemed like a lesser version of Lindsey but now we can see she's much better at her than Lindsey is. The introduction of Billy in this episode was good- he only appears in one more episode but he is a memorable villain and pushes our heroes to places they'd never dream of going. The introduction of Skip was also welcome- as we know he becomes an important character later on this season and next and one of the major points in Cordelia's possession.

Fred added some much needed humour here- her reference to Cordy as Lassie is hilarious and shes such an adorable character, you can't help but love her. She adds a new dynamic to the group and it's nice to see someone who's at least as intelligent as Wesley on the show. Lorne was also great here, as always.

The ending was brilliant but I'm biased due to my undying love for Darla. The scene was so suspenseful and her last line "Guess it's time to go see Daddy" was chilling. Also accompanied by the amazing Darla melody from last season! That gets the episodes bonus points! That Vision Thing is an excellent episode and a great followp to last week's season opener. It provides us with a lot of insight to one of our main character's and shows how to do a good character based episode. A highlight of Season 3.
  • When Bad Visions Go Gross!

    "Great"
That Vision Thing-When Cordelia's visions begin to manifest as painful physical wounds, Lorne tries to use telepathy to find out why this is happening to her, and how the visions can be stopped. Meanwhile lawyers from Wolfram & Hart make another visit to Angel's hotel.

Much better than the premiere, this episode has some truly disgusting yet stunning images, new characters and settings. You can't help but feel awful for Cordy's situation in this episode. I have to give to the special effects and make-up department as those marks and boils on her body gave me goosebumps...just ehhww! Charisma really gave it her all this hour and even her voice suffered through most of the episode. Cordelia has always been strong about keeping her visions, but when they start hurting her she doesn't have the strengh anymore. It's also sad how Cordelia feels without her visions, she's worthless to Angel and the rest of the gang's cause. I have to admit that Lilah is becoming a great villian at this point, now with Lindsey gone, she full swing and her plan with using that powerful psychic against Cordy was original as well as great blackmail. Speaking of that psychic, Kal Penn who goes on to have a successful movie career is okay here but his character is underused. It sucks since he seemed really powerful and would have been nice to se what else he could do. This episode also introduces one of Angel's coolest demon ever, good ol' Skip. The dimension he lives in is cool and the flamming prison where he guards the prisoner has some great special effects. I just love the mild conversationhe and Angel have before they fight, which you just wouldn't expect from such a hideous looking demon, but was just priceless! There some fine dialogue in this episode like:

Lilah: "I got to admit it, the firm didn't think you could do it, but I did, you are a remarkable man Angel."

Angel: "And your an evil b!%ch."

Just hilariously perfectly delievered by Angel. Also, the prisoner Angel releases to save Cordelia, soon to be known as Billy, already looks like a very creepy character this isn't the last we see of him this season. Again, this episode ends with a very pregnant and stressed Darla who has a great scene invovling a Shamon. But when he can't help, she decides to go to the man that made her pregnant. Here comes the drama! All and All, a great episode with some disturbing images and solid plot.
  • One of the best episodes of Angel!

    "Perfect"
What starts out like a normal episode, turns out to be of the best. Fred finally gets out of her room and starts talking to the gang and Cordelia is having more powerful visions that are putting her in some really heavy physical pain. The gang tries then to contact the Powers That Be. They call Lorne to try and trace "the calls" from the Powers That Be. Cordelia is not to happy about it because she thinks she might lose the visions and become useless to Angel. But then, suprises of surprises, who is the person that is hurting Cordelia? That's right, you've guessed: Wolfram & Hart! Why? To rescue a prisoner of a Hell Dimension. He's delivered to Wolfram & Hart and in exchange Cordelia is left alone.
  • Cordelia's visions become physically painful and it's clear she cannot go on much longer this way. Angel is forced to do a job for Wolfram & Hart to spare Cordelia, unleashing something best left in Hell.

    "Great"
It seemed at first to be more of a standalone, it's only later that we see where it's going. It introduces Skip, who will return later to wreak havoc on eveyone's lives, and the begnning of Angel's growing affections for Cordelia. We also see how Cordelia herself is changing as a person. She is becoming more serious and takes the visions so seriously as her role that she is willing to continue the pain and even the ugnliness they are causing her. Also, we see Angel doing something he doesn't want to in order to help someone close to him, in this case, Cordelia, when he goes to rescue Billy from his private room in Hell. It's the first time that Lilah uses the power of Wolfram & Hart against Angel.

Favorite scene: Angel is sitting in the back of the convertible, with Gunn driving and Wes in the passenger seat as they're driving down the dark streets of LA

Gunn: "Five herb shops in Chinatown and we've been to four. How come whatever we're searching for is always in the last place we look?"

Wesley: "I supposed it is one of the unwritten laws of being a 'dick.' (Gunn give Wes a look) Ah, a sleuth, a gumshoe, Sherlock."

Gunn: "All I know is you use the word 'dick' again and we're gonna have a problem."
  • Poor Cordy.

Cordy gets this vision of a key. Along with the key she sees this demon with five claws. Not only did she see it but it left bloody cuts on her stomach and shoulder. She convinced Angel that she was fine and he went to go get the key. He, Gunn, and Wesley got the key and took out the protectors. Then Cordy gets another painful vision and gets these boils on her face. by then Angel is really worried so Lorne tries to send a message to the ptb. She guts burns along with the next vision. It turns out that Lindsay was hiring someone to send Cordy the visions. Angel had to rescue someone from hell to save Cordy. Her visions were back and she was better. This episode was so great and exciting. The acting by both Charisma Carpenter and David Boreanaz were superb. Overall ten out of ten.
  • Ouch

Cordy is having some painful visions as of late and someone is trying to get her attention. It ISNT the PtB, though. Someone is sending messages of their own, and guess who is behind it? W&H of course. Seems that they need Angel to get a clients nephew out of his own private box in hell. (What does a person have to do to get one of those!?)Angel is reluctant at first, but he does the task for Lilah and co and gets the boy (Billy) out. Angel is furious at Lilah for hurting Cordy to get what she wanted and makes some threats of his own. He also kills the demon who was sending Cordy the painful visions. Great ep!
  • Cordy!

In this episode, even for those people who still refused to lvoe Cordelia, you really felt so horrible for her. The pain she suffered in this episode could almost be felt through the screen. I really felt that Charisma and David in particular did really great in this episode. They had great chemistry with each other through the shows run so far, but this episode in particular seemed to be an episode that really turned it up and made you feel it.

what can i say cordelia is the best of the show and this episode is one of the best as well because it as fantastic.

  • One of my favourite episodes ever!

    "Perfect"
This episode was truly fantastic! It was so sad seeing my poor little girl Cordy go through all that, but it is a fine example of how much she really has grown throughout the series up until that point. the fighting and overall story was Fantastic as usual! I am dying to see more of the Darla story, and I can't wait to see Angel's reaction to the pregnant Darla. We can really see that Lorne is starting to become part of the group now and I love that. if only they'd start calling him LORNE instead of THE HOST!!! The lawyer gavin (I hope thats his name!) seems to be sizing up to play a big part in the upcoming stories! Overall a perfect example of how great a series Angel is and i hope for more episodes of this standard throughout the rest of the season!
  • This one is so sad. poor Cordy, she suffers a lot and still she remains strong. after being cut, boiled and burned. just another bug reason why to love and adore Cordy. also Lilah starts to grow as a character. this episode is wonderful.

    That Vision Thing

This episode is so amazingly beautiful. really, Cordy makes it one of the best of this season. Cordy, I LOVE her so much. he suffers but she still continues to fight. what a woman. also. Lilah starts to get more interesting and the boy at the end is a great thing for the episode Billy. all in all, this episode is fantastic. no weak parts at all.

cut to the office, Gunn and Wes are doing extra nice to Cordy. Fred is under a table watching. she joins them to eat and Cordy knows why they are so nice to her. Fred wants Cordy to have a vision about Angel but she doesn't chose to have them. then comes Gavin a lawyer. he is trying to bring them down but Angel doesn't care and he goes away. then Cordy has a vision but it hurts a lot. she sees some claws and a coin and then she goes to the bathroom. then Wes asks if it had four or five claws and she says five and looks at her stomach and is cut five times.

    the credits start

cut to Fred finding out where the things are and Angel then asks her a favour. cut to Cordy in the bathroom looking at her cuts. Angel says that he isn't leaving until she opens and she says she's fine. he tells her to go home with Fred. she doesn't want to go but he forces her anyway. cut to Wes, Gunn and Angel going to a Chinese place. they ask for a coin and the two old people start to fight them. Gunn and Wes beat down Grandma and Angel beats down grandpa. she has the coin and they take it from him.

cut to Lilah and Gavin he tells her about what he's doing and she says that he isn't doing anything important and that he doesn't have a team and then she goes into her office. cut to Fred and Cordy. Cordy wants Fred to leave and she thinks Fred is a little weird and Fred compares her to Lassie. Cordy asks Dennis for help to get rid of Fred but then she has a vision and something weird on her face. cut to Angel and the rest being with Cordy. she doesn't get why the PTB did this to her and she has boils on her face. they leave her alone and go outside. Fred says that they need someone that can connect to the PTB and Angel needs to go and find the key.

Angel goes over to the place and then attacks. cut to Fred Gun coming back. some people are doing work inside and piss Gunn off. cut to Angel coming back. Lorne is there with Cordy because he might have a signal with PTB. but Cordy refused because if she looses her visions they wouldn't need her anymore. he compares her with a car but she says it's better than a dog. then Lorne starts to try to make contact. cut to Lilah and a guy. they are gonna do something and he starts to float and takes his thing off and you can see his brains and then he sends some visions to Cordy and those throw Lorne through the room and Cordy's arms get all burned up.

cut to Angel and Cordy. she thinks this is happening because she's bad but he says that this is only happening because she's strong. she cries and he will help her. she tried to be brave but she doesn't want the visions anymore. then comes Wes and takes Angel away. he needs to know something. Fred tells him outside that the visions aren't coming from the powers. Lorne says that it has to be from someone that is willing to hurt Cordy's pretty face.

cut to Lilah playing games on her computer. Angel is there watching. he scares her. he tells her to help Cordelia. Lilah will only do that if he does what she is asking. to take someone from a jail in hell and he needs those objects to get there. cut to Angel going to Wes, Wes said that those guys he had to defeat were actually good and that what he's doing would be bad but he then wants to go with Angel but Angel doesn't want him to come. he goes in a portal thing but all his weapons stay behind.

Angel comes in a place where a boy is in fire. Skip in the guard and he's on the good side but Angel says he has to do this so they fight and eventually Angel knows Skip out. The naked boy comes free. cut to a place where Lilah is waiting. Gunn, Wes and Angel take the young boy to that place. Lilah tells the man to make Cordy better and then the young man walks over to them. Angel then kills the man and tells Lilah to never come through Corelia every again or he will kill her. cut to later, Cordy is very thankful but she thinks that the guy they freed is very horrible and it’s all her fault. he says that she was a lot more important and he will deal with the consequences when they come. cut to another place. Darla goes to a shaman to ask her about her baby and he does a spell but it throws him away. he says that the baby wasn’t mean to be know. she says that she has heard about that already 'Time to go visit Daddy'.

    Best episode quotes:

Wesley: No, Gunn, you misunderstand. - I mean - I'm not saying that we act differently. I just think we should be gentle in our inter... Evening, Cordy.

Gunn: Hey, Cordelia. How was that?

    Wesley: I felt quite genuine.

Fred: B plus. C minus. A girl can tell.

Wesley: Fred - if you feel comfortable enough grading our sincerity how about joining us for the rest of the meal? - Isn't that the point of coming downstairs?

Fred: I guess that'd be okay.

Gunn: Ah, I-I don't mean to rush you back into the twenty first century, but how about using some chopsticks. Or a fork, maybe. You remember forks, don't you?

Fred: Sure. Who could forget? Fork, pitch fork, fork it over, fork in the road - one I'm not ready to take yet.

    Wesley: Hello again.

    Gunn: Nice day.

Cordelia: I know what you're doing.

    Gunn: You do?

    Fred: Told you.

Cordelia: You're being all fake nice and super-sensitive like 'poor Cordelia, she's on edge, because she hasn't had a vision in while.' Well, I have information for you. I look forward to my next vision.

    Wesley: You do?

Cordelia: Well, why shouldn't I? I mean, the Powers That Be have seen fit to choose me - who am I to refuse?

Fred: Great. How about if you use that vision thing to find out where Angel's at right now.

    Cordelia: Cause I don't care?

Gunn: Ah, what Cordelia means is that she doesn't choose to have a vision. The Powers send them to her when they got info to share.

Wesley: Think of them as gifts.

    Cordelia: Yes, having-my-head torn-open-and-hot-lava-poured-into-my-skull gifts.

Cordelia: Oh. Hi. I'm sorry I didn't hear you sneak up on us. (Looks down at his shoes) Must be those tastefully expensive Gucci Loafers. Totally our fault.

Wesley: Mr. Park was just leaving.

Gavin: No. Actually, I just arrived. This is a list of fifty-seven city code violations for your hotel, including earthquake proofing, asbestos and termites. Be advised I filed a copy of this with the city planning office.

Angel: Gee, fifty-seven - is that a lot?

Angel: Fred! Good to see you out and about.

Fred: It is, isn't it? Out and about. I've been forking with Gunn.

Wesley: Anything of interest yet, Fred?

Fred: Oh, sure. Lots. 'H' is a fascinating letter. Helicopters, helium, helmets, hernias...

Wesley: Did you happen to notice 'herbs' in your wanderings?

Gunn: Five herb shops in Chinatown and we've been to four. How come whatever we're searching for is always in the last place we look?

Wesley: I supposed it is one of the unwritten laws of being a 'dick.' Ah, a sleuth, a gumshoe, Sherlock.

Gunn: All I know is you use the word 'dick' again and we're gonna have a problem. - So what is the name of this place anyway?

Wesley: Van Hoa Dong. - It should be up there on the left. How was Cordelia when you spoke to her.

Angel: She said she was fine.

    Wesley: You don't believe her?

Gunn: Alright, here we go. Next time we're hitting the last place first.

    Lilah: Asbestos disposal? What?

Gavin: I think that's mine. Yeah, my printer is down so I had the I.T. guy network me into yours.

    Lilah: Thanks for asking.

Gavin: This hasn't been announced yet - but I've been moved into Special Projects.

    Lilah: From Real Estate?

Gavin: With so much karmicly damaged property in LA, not to mention the demon infestation, the Partners felt that I would be more useful here.

    Lilah: Hmm...

Gavin: I'm working on a little something aimed at Angel Investigations. If you're interested, I'd love to have you on my team.

Lilah: Your team? I’ll be right in. Let me tell you a little something about your team. - You don't have one.

Gavin: Look, just because they gave you Lindsey's old office doesn't mean...

Lilah: I have this office because I earned it. As did Lindsey. He sacrificed his flesh and blood for this company, literally had his hand cut off - fighting against Angel. What are you doing? Building code violations.

Gavin: I'm fighting Angel in my own way.

Lilah: Yeah. I bet he's really terrified.

Cordelia: Okay! All ready for bed. Face washed, teeth brushed, tired, tired! You can go now! Fred? - Okay, you can go now Fred.

Fred: Sorry. It's been so long.

Cordelia: Not a problem. Here. Take it with you. Enjoy that peanutty goodness in the comfort of your own home.

    Fred: Hey. Wait. Angel said....

Cordelia: I know. He said that you should wait until he calls but as you can see, I'm fine. In fact I'm better than fine. I'm - right as rain.

Fred: I-I never understood that saying 'right as rain.' How is rain right? Or wrong, for that matter. Okay, I suppose if there's a flood it's wrong. And speaking of floods, or maybe just being overwhelmed - what's it like to have a vision?

Cordelia: Wow. You know, next to you, I am downright linear.

Fred: Do you see things or smell them or just know - 'in your stomach' know. Like in fifth grade when I saw Grayson Wells and I just knew we'd go steady and even though we never did, looking back on it, it feels like we did. Is it like that?

    Cordelia: Okay. Time to go.

Fred: Has - has anyone ever told you you're exactly like Lassie? Yeah. You're like Angel's Lassie. Sure, he does most of the saving but it's your visions that tell him that Timmy is trapped in the well, or the robbers are hiding in the barn. He really needs and depends on you.

Cordelia: Well, thanks. I'd be flattered except for the Lassie being a dog part. Dennis, a little help here? See? I'm not alone, I have a ghost.

Angel: We have to figure this out and now. Anybody? Gunn?

Gunn: I had this auntie who used to get this nasty crusty stuff on the back of her neck every summer - turns out she was allergic to shellfish.

    Angel: That was helpful.

Fred: I know that you're probably disappointed that you couldn't go fight that thing with Angel.

Gunn: Right. Because why would I wanna walk with a cute, young woman on a beautiful night when I could be out hacking and slaying an ugly, boil-covered demon monster and getting myself killed.

    Fred: I can't apologize enough.

Angel: Why don't you want Lorne to try and trace the visions?

Cordelia: It's not like I'm morally against letting a demon into my subconscious for a quick lookee-loo. Hey, might be fun. But with the Powers That Be doing this whole 'book of Job' thing, the last thing I want is more noise in my head.

Angel: Maybe he can make the noise stop.

    Cordelia: Yeah.

Angel: Isn't that what you want?

Cordelia: Yes! No. Well, no. Sure I hate looking and feeling like this, but - if I lose the visions, I wouldn't be able to help you anymore. You wouldn't need me.

Angel: That's not why I need you. You're important. - And the visions are just after market extras like Hurst shift or Krager wheels.

Cordelia: Did you just compare me to a car?

Angel: It was a very nice car.

Cordelia: I guess that's better than a dog.

Lorne: Alright, princess, like I told you earlier. You shouldn't even feel a thing. You ready? Now, I want you to relax. Picture yourself outdoors, in a field, or on a mountain.

    Cordelia: I like the mountains.

Lorne: Beautiful. Say you're on a mountaintop, and it's warm. The sky is blue, full of big, fluffy clouds. You're Julie Andrews in 'The Sound of Music.' And you're relaxed and you're spinning and the camera is swirling and - ouch! Careful, honey, you've got some power of your own!

Cordelia: Sorry. All the spinning and swirling was freaking me out.

Cordelia: Is Lorne gonna be okay?

Angel: He's fine. He's unconscious, but he's fine. You're the one I'm worried about.

Cordelia: Am I a bad person? Am I just a horrible person? Because I know I can be snippy sometimes.

Angel: This isn't happening because you're bad. - If anything it's because you're strong. Stronger than you realize.

Cordelia: I'm not. - I know what I said earlier. - But I don't want the visions anymore. I tried to be brave. I did. But I'm just scared now. I'm scared all the time. I mean look at me! What could be so important that the Powers would do this? I don't understand.

Lilah: I know what you're thinking. Yes. You could kill me now, but then you'll never be able to stop the visions. Just for the record, those little skin problems on what's-her-name weren't intended. Just an unfortunate little side effect.

Angel: Her name is Cordelia, and you will help her.

Wesley: I think so. Something you probably won't like to hear is that both artifacts are considered objects of good.

Angel: Oh. So the Chinese guy and the boil guy...

Wesley: Were also aligned with the forces of good.

Angel: Damn! So hard to tell these days. You know, they should wear lapel pins or something.

    Angel: Hi.

Skip: Hi. - You know you're not supposed to be here, right?

    Angel: Yeah. What about him?

Skip: Oh, him? Oh, he's supposed to be here. Do you have any idea how monstrous a guy has to be before he gets sent to us? We're a very high-end institution.

Angel: And it's your job to keep him here.

    Skip: Yeah. I'm Skip.

Angel: Angel. - So, ah, you live in here, Skip?

Skip: No. I commute. It's not too bad - about twenty minutes.

Angel: Uh, what keeps him in the fire?

    Skip: My will.

Angel: How come he's not screaming in pain?

Skip: Oh, he is. My will prevents him from being heard. I mean there is only so many 'oh my god! The pain! Please make it stop!' that you can listen to before it starts to bug the crap out of you.

    Angel: I see your point.

Skip: You're a vampire, right? How come it smells like you work for the Powers That Be?

    Angel: Cause I do.

Skip: And you're here to try to - rescue this guy? But we're on the same side. Shouldn't you be helping to keep him in here?

Angel: I know. I know. Long story. Involves a girl. I don't like it any better than you do.

Skip: So I really can't talk you out of this.

Angel: Sorry. I wish you could. I guess we just have to agree to … disagree.

Lilah: To be honest, nobody at the firm thought that you could do it - except me. You're a remarkable man, Angel.

Angel: Yeah, and you're an evil bitch.

Angel: Cordy, I'm glad you're feeling better and all but...

Cordelia: ...you're not really a foodie. I know. But - I saw this great, big industrial kitchen that we have, and never use and I thought that one of these days we should get someone in here that can cook.

    Cordelia: Here we are.

    Angel: Heh. Here we are.

Cordelia: Angel - what you did for me was unbelievably selfless - and brave, and amazing. And it's so great to know that the next vision I have will just be blindingly painful and not turn me into Elephant-man or anything.

Angel: I hear a big 'but' coming.

Cordelia: What if that guy you freed is someone or something that's truly terrible? Wolfram and Hart won this time and it's all my fault.

Angel: It's not about winning, Cordelia, it's about what's at stake. And in this particular scenario you were way more important than winning. - I can't worry about that guy I set free. I did what I had to do. I'll just deal with the consequences when they happen.

Darla: You're a difficult man to find, Senor. Do you know why I'm here? You are my last hope. I've been told you're very powerful, very wise. I tried everything and I can't get rid of it, so I ask you: what is this thing - growing inside of me? And how's it possible?

Shaman: The father is also a...

Darla: Vampire? Yes! Though - not a very good one.

Shaman: "I will need some blood.

Darla: Well, I'll show you mine if - you show me yours. Men are such babies.

Shaman: This has never failed me. I can not help you. No man can. This is not meant to be known.

Darla: Yeah, yeah. Like I haven't heard that before. I guess there is only one thing left to do. Time to go visit daddy.

  • Another interesting installment where we see how torturous the visions are becomming for our poor Cordy. This is another resurected review from the old TVTome site and was written as if it was the first viewing - all guesses are tongue in cheek.

    "Great"
Overall I think this was a pretty good installment. We got some funny lines from Wesley, Cordy, and Fred. I'm really starting to like the new girl. She adds an interesting dimension to the cast.

We also see that Cordy's visions are getting a lot worse. Of course some of the worse turns out to be thanks to Wolfram & Hart, but I don't think the blinding headaches are their fault.

I wonder if these visions are going to keep getting progressively worse? Cordy did seem really defensive about them. I think she's trying to keep the gang from knowing exactly how bad they really are.

A few have wondered why Angel took out the Shaman and not everyone else involved. I believe the reason Angel only went for the Shaman was because he was the only real direct threat to Cordelia. He knew that Lilah would keep using the Shaman on Cordy anytime she wanted Angel to do her bidding.

He would have been justified in killing the rest of them, but he's trying not to be that dark anymore. Killing all of them would be along the same lines as locking Darla and Drusilla in the wine cellar with the lawyers. Angel has progressed past that, he has moved on. Therefore it would be wrong of him to just kill Lilah and the others. We wouldn't want him going on another broody downward spiral now would we?

Someone also mentioned that they think Cordy was being really mean to Fred. I don't think that's the case at all. I'm sure she just didn't feel like having to entertain Fred, and she also didn't want anyone to realize how much pain she was really in.

Also, this is Cordy we're talking about. She was always a bit of a snob. Cordy of old wouldn't have ever had anything to do with someone like Fred. Even though she has improved she is still Cordelia, the biggest Bitca in Sunnydale High.

Exactly how cheery are you feeling when you have a splitting headache? :)

    Now for the funny.

Wesley: I suppose it's one of the unwritten laws of being a dick. Ah... ahem... a sleuth, a gumshoe, a sherlock.

Gunn: All I know is, you use the word dick again and we gonna have a problem.

Ah Wesley. Even though he seems to be getting tougher by the minute it's nice to see old geeky Wesley on occasion. :)

Fred: (To Angel) I've been forking with Gunn.

That line is just way to funny. I wonder if it could possibly have any implications for the future? Could we see Fred and Gunn getting together? They do have some chemistry.

Cordelia: (to Fred) Wow. Next to you, I'm downright linear.

And, even with a terrible headache Cordy comes up with some snarky goodness.

Wesley: (to Gavin Park) Well, now that we've had this lovely reintroduction - I suggest you piss off.

And, a good dark Wesley line. Could you imagine Season one Wesley saying a line like this? Sounds more like something Giles would say.
