Angela and her team of investigators are given a new case to tackle. A woman, in apparent attempt to defend herself, kills an assailant in her home. But the plot thickens. Forensics find that the man was killed outside and dragged inside, and that he was not an invading stranger but rather a familiar childhood friend or acquaintance. Upon learning of the turn in circumstances, the woman, Patricia, flees and seek refuge in a church with more of her childhood friends.
As Angela's group dig deeper into the mystery, they find out that everyone involved - the priest, patricia, the assailant, and even a mentally disabled church worker - attended the same school, and were all successful in life, with the exception of the dead man, who served a term in prison. In short, a flashback into the past reveals the reason why the man appeared at Patricia's door-step, why he failed in life, and who killed him.
Meanwhile, we are given another glimpse into the lives of Angela's family. Her mother is dying. Her brother is in bed with some shifty characters (who surprisingly happen to be Russian). While she can see through his lies, Angela still gets manipulated by her brother.
Overall a pretty average episode where nothing exceptionally interesting happens. The acting of the guest stars as well as some of the usual stars leaves quite a bit to be desired. It varies from bad to ridiculously awful. The ending scene alone, where Jerry and his partner in some fishy business massacre the Russian language so badly I had trouble understanding. Sean Connery spoke better Russian, and that tells you a lot.
As with the previous episode Angela's eyes don't seem all that spectacular any more, which is bad considering this was only the 3rd episode. I'm not entirely sure how much longer this show can last on Angela's looks alone, because everything else is pretty average.
7.3/10, for averageness.
