Show Summary

Anglo-Saxon Attitudes was a British mini-series that only had 3 episodes. This mini-series aired in 1992 and featured young Kate Winslet in one of the supportive roles along with Daniel Craig. It was a TV version of a famous novel written by Angus Wilson and it was adapted for the mini-series by screenwriter Andrew Davies. In 2008 a full 2-DVD set was released by Acorn Media and included 229 minutes of the show as well as biographies of the film crew and series previews. A well-known history professor revisits his youth and some particular events he is not very proud of, while dealing with present day issues such as rocky marriage and unruly children. The main theme of this show is a deceit towards others as well us towards oneself. The mini-series features Richard Johnson and Tara Fitzgerald in lead roles. The show mainly explores British hypocrisy and what role it plays in everyday life as well as in the academic circles.moreless
