He gets the starring role in "Franklin the Friendly Woodchuck", but the production turns out to be too much for him when he is maulled by a bear, attacked by a woodpecker, and blown up with explosives.         When Charlton rides the bus to Hollywood, as they leave Kansas the bus passes a sign that says "You're Not in Kansas Anymore." This is a reference to the famous line in the 1939 classic movie The Wizard oz Oz, when Dorothy (Judy Garland) says to Toto among arriving on Oz, "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
