  • This episode is a parody of the musical Les Miserables. Runt portrays the main character (as Runt Val Runt) while Rita portrays a combination of Fontine and Cosette. Unlike the actual musical, this one concludes with a happy ending.

This has to be one of my favorite episodes in the Animaniacs series. As someone who has appreciation for musical theatre, I find this to be one of the most enjoyable episodes. While changing up the songs just enough (probably so they don't have to worry about royalties, etc...) you're still able to tell which songs are being parodied at certain times. Animaniacs has to have been one of the most clever kids shows to ever air, especially as both kids and adults can enjoy the antics of the show. Les Miseranimals is definiteltly a stand out classic proving how great this show is.
