(The Warner Siblings had just finished a huge song and dance number for the soldiers on leave) Narrator: Well, that was certainly one huge jitterbug. Dot: No, this is. (She pulls the curtain open, revealing a giant, green, fly-like bug. The soldiers and waiters scream and run out of the bilding. The Warner Sibs, now wearing uniforms, go to the door.) Dot: (Putting helmets on herself and her brothers) Come on, we're on patrol. Yakko/Wakko: (saluting) Yes sir! Wakko: (as they go outside.) I love being Air Raid Wardens. Dot: TURN OUT THOSE LIGHTS! (All of the buildings immediately turn off their lights. Wakko then brings out a long ladder, uses it to climb to the sky, and eats the moon, making everything pitch black.) Dot: This time Wakko has definitely gone too far. (The Warner Sibs pull back on the black so that they appear through three seperate holes.) Yakko: (as he and his siblings wave good-bye) Well, buy bonds everybody!
Dot: Turn out those lights! The entire plot is a parody of old World War II cartoons that the Looney Tunes did during the 1940's. In fact Dot's line, "TURN OUT THOSE LIGHTS!" was common in these old cartoons, one of the most notable probably being "A Tale of Two Kitties", except the character who said it - Tweety Bird in his first appearance - actually said, "PUT OUT THOSE LIGHTS!". These lines were done because there was a risk of being bombed by the enemy at night, and with the lights off the enemy couldn't see the buildings as well.
