Yakko: Aw, you're a wrecking machine! This is a parody of the popular film "Rocky", starring Sylvester Stallone. Yakko is imitating Rocky's trainer in order to motivate Wakko.

Studio Executive: It was a giant chicken, I tell you! This is a reference to the character Chicken Boo who joins the cast later in the season. His shorts involved him disguising himself as human and fooling everyone except for one person who would run around yelling, "He's a giant chicken!"

Episode Title: "The Taming Of The Screwy" The title of thi episode is a play on words to Shakespeare's "The Taming Of The Shrew". The plot line bears closer similarity to "Pygmalian" by George Bernard Shaw, however.
