Freakazoid makes a cameo in this episode.
When shown on Nickelodeon, the shot of Yakko & Wakko greeting Hello Nurse as a "femme fatale nurse" was cut out. The "Give me the bird!"/"We can't, this is a family show" exchange was also cut.
Minerva: Alright, give me the bird. Dot: We can't. This is a children's show.
Dot: Who are those guys? Yakko: The stuff Dreamworks are made of.
Yakko: The mink is working for Fox, the pair of legs is working for Paramount, and the guy who needs rehersal is working for Universal. Dot: Thank you, Dr.Seuss
Dot: You can't argue with that--it's too stupid!
Yakko: I gotta tell you, that is the worst Peter Lorre impression I have ever heard.
Dot: This is a zany episode!
Yakko: This is the city. It could be any city, but it's not--it's Burbank.
Yakko: So, sister--who's not really my sister but I'm just calling you that--you were about to describe a caper.
Yakko: We were taking in the show when someone slipped a mickey in my drink--sorry, bub, I work for Warner's!
Yakko: The mink is working for Fox, the pair of legs is working for Paramount, and the guy who needs rehearsal is working for Universal. Dot: Thank you, Dr. Seuss Fox, Paramount, and Universal are movie studios. Also, Dr. Seuss, or by his real name, Theodore Geisel, was a writer and illustrator of children's books.
Yakko: The stuff Dreamworks are made of. The group of men that Yakko is referring to (including Steven Speilberg) are the founders of the (brand new, at the time) studio: Dreamworks.
Plot: This Pun for Hire This cartoon is mostly a parody of the film "The Maltese Falcon" starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Peter Lorre. It also spoofs the whole genre of "Whodunit?" films that were popular in the 1940s and early 1950s.
