Welcome to the Anna Lee guide at TV.com. A Metropolitan Police detective, Anna Lee (played by Imogen Stubbs) gets fed up with sexism and bureaucracy in the Force and quits to join the Brierly Detective Agency. There, she often finds herself investigating crimes which the police have given up on or have failed to deal with thoroughly. The show is based on stories by Liza Cody. Unhappily, only the pilot and one series of five more episodes was ever made, all filmed in 1993. This was not due to the ratings, as the show was a huge success, but both Cody and Stubbs wanted to move on to other things.moreless
