The country of Singapore is serious about food. The cuisine of Singapore borrows from Chinese, Indian, Malaysian and Indonesian traditions. Along the way, it uses the cheap and plentiful ingredients of the the country to make the food available everywhere.

...and I loved this episode. Mr Bourdain and the No Reservations team made this episode with love, the love for Singapore as a foodie destination that came through in each and every minute of this episode.

Tony is right, Tian Tian chicken rice is awesome, but you know what, it doesn't even begin to compare with the product of a myriad other purveyors of Hainanese chicken rice in Singapore. In Singapore, when considering food, you are always spoiled for choice, which is probably why the finale of Season 7 of Top Chef was shot here.moreless

    • Tony: Get out of the hotel as quickly as possible. Definitely don't eat there. We even have a pool on the production of this show, which among us is going to get sick first, and it's usually someone hitting the breakfast buffet at the major chain hotel. But, it's a measure of how food crazy they are in Singapore and how seriously Singaporians take their food that even at the major chain hotel–the food does not suck.
