The show starts with mock pictures of Anthony as a civil war Confederate soldier. Anthony starts his journey in Charleston with Reverend Randolf as his guide. The two eat at the Hominy Grill and sample some authentic South Carolina cuisine. Next Anthony puts on his tuxedo and meets with the Lee brothers who are food critics. The trio tour the city sites and end up at a garden party to drink the quintessential southern drink Mint Julip. Next Anthony meets with Link Eerie High a bar-b-que connoisseur from the city of High Hill. On his cooking farm cooking techniques and ingredients are discussed. Links farm is famous for whole hog pork preparation. Next we see Anthony take part in a Civil War battle reenactment. Anthony is annoyed by the quality of his uniform and the reasoning behind some of the actors and why they do the reenactments. Next Anthony explores the Gullah culture and eats at the Gullah Grub restaurant. It's explained that the amalgamation of all the slave cultures being isolated on an island and needing to communicate so everyone could understand is how Gullah culture was created. The chef at Gullah takes Anthony to his second job of Fox and Hound hunting. After the hunt Anthony sample local cuisine again this time at Justine's Kitchen. Here he samples what's called low country cuisine. It's basically old country recipes with grits and gizzards for example. In the final segment of the show Anthony reunites with the Lee brothers for a oyster roast. People gather and eat oysters not suitable for restaurant consumption and they are roasted over an open fire grill.
