Anthony starts his journey with Iron Chef Morimoto and the two enjoy Soba noodles Soba being the Japanese word for buckwheat. The dish is made to perfection down to the exact inch diameter of the noodles and Anthony comments on how Americans tend to care about the broth and not the noodles when eating. Next Anthony heads to an authentic martini bar and Tony marvels at the intricate nature of making the drinks. Next Anthony heads to a Kendo dojo and learns how the sport emphasizes personal discipline and harmony. After wards Anthony goes to Morimoto's restaurant XEX for monk fish dishes. Next Anthony heads to Rokkakudō Temple for a lesson in Ikebana the art of Japanese flower arranging. Next Anthony heads to Tariki for great Yakitori which is mostly small pieces of chicken grilled on a stick. After wards Anthony meets an authentic sword maker who for the most part makes cooking knives given the modern times. Next he and Miromoto head to a Ryokhan which is a traditional Japanese inn as it would have been during the feudal era. After wards in the final segment of the show Anthony and a guest head to a small bar one of many designed to provide an intimate atmosphere for after work drinkers.
