Tony ventures to Uruguay with his brother Chris to find records of his family. Jean Bourdain, their great great grandfather came from France with his sister in the 1800s and spent many decades in Uruguay. There was a fruitless search for records, but it did not matter. The sparsely populated country they showed was wonderful. The capital Montevideo and the four places they visited showed the charm of Hemingway's Cuba. The food was amazing. The true carnivore Tony was blissfully happy with the amount of meat served at almost every meal.
Perhaps the best part of the trip was spending time with Tony's younger brother. Not since their trip to the ancestral home in France have I seen the guys travel together. The two are very different but I have a feeling that Tony and Chris will be spending a lot more time together after this trip.moreless
