Logan Mountstuart is a writer with a very interesting life. During his time he travelled a lot and a war, the death of a prime minister and the abdication of a king. But this is not what interests him - that remains the individual consciousness of these events, which he documents in a journal. Based on the novel of the same name this four-part adaptation for Channel 4 is scripted by the book's original writer, William Boyd.
