It's Labor Day in South Jersey and Frylock is determined to make it a healthy one by grilling up some tofu steaks. This does not impress Carl, but Master Shake's idea of a cookout does. He has procured a dairy cow from a farm that he killed himself by force-feeding it pork. In order to cook it Shake also has bought a gigantic deep-fryer large enough to fit the cow in and flash fry it. To the disgust of Frylock, Meatwad joins in with Shake and Carl and the three chow down on the flash fried cow, which has been injected with cheddar and pepperjack cheese to make it taste better.
Since there is no place to store the fryer Frylock asks Shake what he plans to do with the leftover oil. Shake is determined to tip the fryer over and let the oil run into the street. Frylock refuses to allow him to do that and tells Shake to take it to an oil recycling center down the street. Shake doesn't listen, however, and leaves the fryer out in front of the house untouched for a week while flies and rats run around it.
Frylock is finally able to cajole Shake into getting rid of the fryer but Shake's idea of "getting rid of it" is to simply move it into Carl's backyard. Carl refuses to allow Shake to do so but after Shake reminds him that he ate the cow too Carl decides to help Shake dispose of the oil. They decide to head to the woods and dump it there. As they do so, Shake abandons Carl- not wanting to get in trouble. Carl doesn't believe anyone will arrest him, but the trees come to life and apprehend him.
The next day at the Aqua Teens' house, Shake receives a summons to appear in the woods to answer for what he did. The trees also plant a giant tree in front of the house, for reasons never made clear. Shake, however, is unimpressed and unwilling to cooperate, knocking the tree down and setting it on fire. This, along with his failure to appear, gets him a second summons and the trees come down to apprehend him.
The next day Frylock goes to the woods to find Shake imprisoned in the fryer. Shake is to stand trial for what he's done, and even though the court wants to appoint a shrub lawyer that wants him to plead guilty, Frylock serves as his lawyer. Before the trial begins the Aqua Teens find out about Carl's punishment...he has been stripped of his wifebeater and the trees are using his skin for paper.
After a nonsensical trial involving a wooden video camera that no one else besides the trees can see and which Shake nearly makes worse by ripping the shrub's arms off and impersonating a tree, Frylock finally catches the trees in a conundrum as they don't know what to do in the event of a criminal apologizing for what he did. He procures a tree law book showing what to do, but since the book is printed with paper and trees are paper's historic source, the tree judge orders Frylock seized. Frylock decides to use his eye lasers to rescue Shake and Carl and is yelled at by Shake for not doing it sooner. Frylock then reminds Shake that he is "guilty as hell" and knows it, but since Shake was not convicted, he claims to be on a quest to find the guilty party. He then decides to remove all plant life from the Aqua Teens' house by having the front yard paved over with asphalt. However, Shake and the Aqua Teens immediately go into hiding afterward after Shake realizes he has no way of paying for the paving.
