  • Six Million Dollar Gillette

    8.5
A great offering of Archer this week as we see Gillette's day begin in his wheelchair-bound state and his utter misery with the elevator being out of order so he had to use a cranked freight one too. Archer, Lana, and Cyril are all about to go to Rome on a mission Gillette did all of the research on but isn't allowed to go by Malory. Krieger offers Gillette his legs back by replacing them with bionic ones of something like that so that he can walk again and Gillette agrees although Krieger's insane plan is quite hilarious. Upon hearing Gillette is getting robotic legs Archer, his fear of cyborgs after having dealt with Barry and Katya, he tries to break into Krieger's lab so stop the procedure but can't break through. He asks Malory for an RPG from Rodney (the new arms inventory guy) who hands it over after Archer gets a note from Malory in the presence of her snooty Cadillac dealership owning husband. Pam's chugging beer while assisting with the butchery of surgery run by Krieger was one of the funniest parts of the episode. But Rodney trapping Archer into the blast proof doors until he returns the RPG prompts Archer to logically fire one of the RPG rounds into the enclosed space and nearly kill himself and Cheryl. But the gaggiest and most entertaining part was when Archer unloads his pistol at Krieger's door and a magic bullet ricocheted all the way down a flight of stairs and still managed to hit Brett who was at the bottom of them. Malory's asking if he's ok and then telling him to have that area cleaned up by Monday was typical mean Malory. So Ray can walk again (again) because he wasn't faking it and having another active agent on the team is good to mix things up logistically with the writers and Krieger would think of something like this anyhow. But Gillette can walk again and not much else got done but the Luau reference makes me want to know what happened that day since there seems to be such an inside joke-story there.moreless

    • Archer: Grover Cleveland called; he wants his watch back. He left two non-consecutive messages.

    • Krieger: (Watching Ray sit alone in his wheelchair) Ahem.
      Ray: What?
      Krieger: Nothing. I'm just curious...
Ray: A bag. I piss and shit in a plastic bag.
Krieger: Me too! But actually, I was wondering if you'd like to walk again.
Ray: No, Krieger. Because this way I never have to buy new shoes.
Krieger: Yeah, but is that worth it?
