Malory comes into work in an unusually terrible mood. She confesses to her ISIS employees that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. At her follow-up diagnostic, the Doctor decides to test Archer because of the genetics linked with breast cancer. While the Doctor discovers that Malory's test was really a false positive, Archer, it turns out, has stage two breast cancer.
In lieu of his diagnosis, Archer treats everyone a little bit better. He prepares for an operation that will try and eradicate the cancer from his system. He goes to Vegas in place of Woodhouse and uses Cyril's name when he gets into legal trouble, but thanks Woodhouse profusely upon his return. Drunk the night before his operation, Archer has sex with a sympathetic Lana.
After the operation, the Doctor concludes that Archer is cancer-free, but calls back and lets Archer know that he messed up and the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes. Two more phone calls occur before the Doctor does determine that Archer will need chemotherapy.
