The Tale of Jake the Snake
AIRED:
During ice hockey try-outs, Wiley finds a stick that used to belong to Jake the Snake, a great player. While using the stick, Wiley seems to have a natural talent for hockey and even makes the team. Soon after, he not only gets an ego, calling himself Wiley the Snake, but starts to shed his skin and gain a strange appetite for mice... Similar to a snake.moreless

The show in this episode was rather leading a conclusion for Wiley who have a natural talent for hockey making him win the team. Then the most exciting part here is when Wiley was having change his skin and gain an ability like just a snake which the thing was weird to thought is he eats a mice. I just rather not believe why he just want more strength despite from his great talent as a hockey in their team when he get that stick that he doesn’t know from where it belong or who is the owner. My conclusion here is be happy what you have and before do a step make a great decision where you did not perish in the end.moreless
  • Jake the Snake, "the greatest hockey player to live", had an incredible ability, and a magical stick. After he disappeared, many other boys experienced the glory and power of using his stick, only to, themselves, vanish...moreless

This story has very little plot. It would have actually been a good episode had there been a reason for Jake the Snake to change the boys into snakes. But there is not one presented. He merely lurks about, giving people opportunities they could never have had on their own, only to transform the poor souls into reptiles that he keeps hidden in the school basement. Really pointless. Had he had some sinister plot or purpose for this, I'd have given this episode a much higher rating. But since it definitely lacks the special touch that most Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes have, it falls short.moreless
