I heard somewhere that this was the episode that got the series canceled. I heard that this episode was the one that was truely too scary for the children's network. I personally think it was a great episode and as a child this episode scared the bleep out of me. I remember... I couldn't sleep the night I saw it. When it rerunned, I showed it to my mom and I remember the words that came out of her mouth. "This is some Stephen King bleep!!" Long story short, this episode has to be the scariest. No other episode scared me like this episode.
  • In what can only be described as the "acid" epsiode of AYAOTD, it appears neighbours are after a snack.

If this episode has anything, it's striking imagery. Bizzare, striking imagery. For instance, one of the brothers has a dream at some point, which is both funny and creepy at the same time. It seems to be dull of sinister jolly people and false accusations, something that can't help make it feel like a recycled idea. So yes, the very strange neighbours of Tommy and David appear to be eating people. It has plenty of chills and thrills sure, but it also feels like so many other plots. Basically, you could replace the creepy guys with a vampire or a werewolf and the episodes wouldn't change. Bright, occasionally jumpy, but lacking in that key ingredient that turns a good episode of AYAOTD into a classic AYAOTD.

I think that this episode was a pretty good episode. I also think that it was one of the funnier Are You Afraid of The Dark episodes. I was laughing at the kids facial expressions when they saw the people who were trying out for the job. Also the lady that ran in made me laugh. I thought that this episode also had good music on ot. Overall good episode.
