It is an interesting episode about history coming, metaphorically, out of the textbook and into "real life", but the plot is pretty weak. A boy is in love with one of his friends, April, but can't tell her. He meets a minuteman who's fleeing from the British army and he finds that they have much in common. His new friendship gives him the courage to tell April how he feels. That's all fine and good, but where is the originality or the suspense? Though dashed a little with humor (its only saving grace), this is not what is expected of an Are You Afraid of the Dark tale.
