This is the second appearance of Dr. Vink.
This story is told by Frank.
Pete: Let's hug again!
Dr. Vink: I've come to save your theater, and it won't cost you a dime.
Frank: (Story intro) You sit in that movie theater for so long, you start to forget that the real world even exists. And the only thing that seems real, is the horror movie on the screen. That's what my story is about, because you know when you get really scared, you can always just tell yourself that it's just a movie. But sometimes a movie seems so real, it's hard to tell the difference between what's make believe, and what's really there. Submitted for the approval of The Midnight Society, I call this story... The Tale of the Midnight Madness.
Pete: I thought I just saw Nosferatu step out of the movie.
Dr.Vink: Vink! With a Va, Va, Va!
Katie: Movies aren't real!
Dr. Vink: I am not a nutbag!
This was one of the only Nickelodeon shows that featured someone drinking alcohol. The owner of the theater drank from a flask, as he looked over his bills. After he swallowed he made a face as though what he was drinking was very strong. Odd for a kids' show.
Katie: So how's the campaign going, Don Quixote?
She is referring to the novel by Miguel de Cervantes; the title character is obsessed with defending the helpless.
In Dr. Vink's movie, there is a character who gets killed by Nosferatu at the end of the film. The character's name is Harker. The full name is Jonathon Harker who is from Bram Stoker's classic novel, Dracula.
The name of the vampire movie in the episode is called Nosferatu: The Demon Vampire. This title is based on the 1922 silent movie Nosferatu.
