  • In this truly atmospheric tale of youth and beauty, we find a modern day parable of how beauty obsessed we are now, and the dangers of it. Who else could tell this but Betty Ann?moreless

The other guy said it was PERFECT.

But to me, this episode just wasn't. I had watched Tale of the Many Faces first, which is from series seven and a rip-off of this. Unfortunately, many faces proves to be better than this and this one then seemed rather lacklusture in comparison. Don't be confused though- this is a brilliant story.

A young girl decides to get a job at a beauty store, when her fellow employees start dissappearing and soon she discovers the terrible truth.

This episode gains credit on atmosphere alone. So tense and errie from the mirrors to the hooded women.

The main let down was when we disovered what's happening. For those of you who haven't seen it involves wolves and to me that just sucked part of the scariness of it. But maybe that's crazy old me.

It is a classic. And it certainly is scary.moreless
  • A centuries old witch lures young women with low self esteem into becoming one of her "beauties". However, this role is not so glamorous. She turns her victims into dogs in order to fulfill the requirements of a potion that keeps her eternally youthful.moreless

This has always been one of my favorites. Not just because it is so strange and, well, mystical...but also because it says quite a bit about how human ideals of beauty can be ruining. It is classic Betty Ann at work here, as Eric described in Season 1 "a little gross, but with a happy ending".
